Ohhhhh, now I get it. No, These blades are not nitrogen charged or anything fancy like that. No Tungsten, Beryllium Titanium, Uranium or Unobtainium

They're just forged steel...probably drop forged like a Sears Craftsmen crescent wrench, lol.

I bought them from a local pro about 25 years ago when there were still golfers who thought the whole "Pittsburgh Persimmon" thing was just a phase.

I'm sorry. I was not aware that I had to clear things with anyone. I see you are a charter member. Is there an official protocol to posting or a guideline thread for new posters? If so, let me know.

Thanks for calling me out, though. As a new member to any board, Its always good when the veterans take it upon themselves to publically embarrass the new people when casually discussing golf. Makes you feel right at home and welcome, ya know? I won't make the mistake of posting again, Mr. Charter member.

Well, I will certainly try not to make ignorant comments. I was trying to respond humorously to a seemingly humorous question posed to me.

Perhaps we caught each other on a bad day. Golf is a gentleman's game of character, so I apologize and assess myself a two post penalty. :black eye:

Anyone here care for Kenneth Smith custom clubs? These were the absolute Rolls Royce of clubs for a long time.

These may not be "beautiful" by today's standards, but if you ever handle some, I think you'll see the quality and tradition of the clubmaker's craft. A custom set of these were absolutely pure and respected at the most traditional courses in the world.

I'm still looking for just the right set of these irons. I own a set of woods that are unhit except for the driver. I've played a lot of golf and seen or hit about every kind of club there is and I am in complete awe of the craftsmen that made these. The attention to detail and appreciation of aesthetics. That, my friends, is what golf is all about.

Adams Idea Pro Forged 5-PW +1/2 *2 up These irons are so under the radar. Tour Chrome finish just like my Vokies TT Black Gold shafts.Played Titleist 990b's for ten years had a hard time finding a set of irons with no offset and did not look like crap after a couple of rounds. These are great players irons.

i also think these are a sexy set of irons but my vote goes to mizzy mp 60's

The original Nike Blades are an absolute dream. I still think Tiger should be playing them. The VR's don't even compare.

Some Clubs are just so beautiful thaat you can get away with charging $1500 for the set!!!

Some nice clubs you've posted there. In my opinion, the most beautiful modern blades are not the traditional muscle backs, simply because so many muscleback designs are derivative of the classics. There's really only so much new you can do design wise with it other than the company markings, etc.

Of the modern stuff, the clubs that will be future classics are the truly original designs that are milled like the Taylor mades you have there.

Here's another future classic, IMO. Dave Whitlam makes a good stick. I've got some of his wedges and they are drop dead sexy.

Does anyone have a picture of the unchromed Cleveland Tour Action 588 blades? What years were those produced? I've seen the cavity backs come up on Ebay, but I have not seen the raw finish musclebacks. The model I'm thinking of had something called H.E.T. shafts (High Energy Transfer)....which is probably Cleveland Speak for TT DG S300

Also, if any of you have played these, what are you impressions and what is a reasonable price range on a 9/10 set 2-PW?

I've stumbled across a set and I'm going to go check them out on Monday.

It's never been on my "Forged Blade Bucket List", but if its a gotta have for anyone here, let me know and I'll buy them. The guy works for me, so I think I can get them for between a Grant and a Benjamin or at least write some of it off as "office supplies" :cheesy:
