Bridgestone bxs vs TM TP 5

Looking for thoughts comparing the BXS vs TP5. 
SS is 100-103 slight fade Med to high ball flight.. 

can get the 3  doz Bridgestone box for like $95 and 2 dox TP5s would be the same price so want to know if its better to stick with TP 5 or go to BXS and get more

I’ve played both. I switched from TP5 to BXS. For me the BXS is better in every category. It’s linger off the tee, is better in crosswinds, and sound more inside 100yds. It also has a softer feel which I like. However, it will fly a touch lower off the irons since it spins more, but zero issues stopping the ball.

I can only answer tangentially to your actual question. And this is as a low-teens hcp, slow swing speed hacker so take it for what it's worth. 

 

I've tried TP5X (not TP5) and found it very disappointing in terms of distance. One of the few big-name, modern golf balls I've tried that isn't just "Maybe it was a couple yards short" but full-on "Wow, this ball isn't going very far" with both driver and irons. 

 

I've played a lot with Tour B X and find it really suits me well. As long as anything out there off my driver and with the irons it's "normal distances" although not quite as long as I can get with really low-spin balls like AVX or similar.

 

I've only every used the older version of Tour B XS and it was OK for distance but just a spin monster. Crazy spin. I do understand from what I've read that the last two generations of B XS are a little more mainstream in the spin department, not so extreme.

 

Not sure at all what difference(s) there might be in TP5 and TP5X. The X was so bad for me I've no temptation to try the other model!

DSG has a “free dozen” on the TP5 family currently.

 

TP5 - You are in its swing speed sweet zone. The multilayer configuration makes it tend to behave rather differently by swing speed. The previous (2019) was somewhat less schizophrenic in that regard.

 

The BXS is for those who like to move the ball right to left on every shot. The major down side is that it does tend to move right to left on every shot.

 

IMO - The Maxfli Tour is at least as good as either of the above and costs less. It’s worth at least trying a dozen if you’re interested in a change. The CSX LS is available for a similar “free dozen”.

Not sure what BXS you’re hitting, but “move right to left on every shot” is just flat out incorrect. The greatest player to ever live plays a cut with that ball as his stock shot.

for me, the BXS balloons with any type of wind. I played the 2019 TP5 for a long time, loved that ball but the 2021 version is slightly less effective for me. That beig said, it still beats the BXS in any wind and its better for me with the long irons.....the BXS seemed like the ball for me but when i actually played it, i didnt like it. Besides the feel which is awesome, i didnt like how it performed
