Odyssey re-releasing Versa Jailbird

My initial thought/hope was that they'd release this alongside a second batch of Versa models for the same price (considering they already have the white hot insert), like they did with the secondary releases of the White Hot OG's (7-Bird, 7CH, etc.) and TriHot5k's (Rossie, 7, etc.). However the 23' Versa's have been on sale for a while now, which makes me think a secondary release is unlikely - so this might just be another highly priced limited release akin to the Fowler JB and Rahm Rossie S releases. Maybe a "Keegan" release.

I doubt they release the MH version again.  I bet this OG version will be a full retail launch.

Yeah ik the MH is a separate release entirely. I was optimistic that the JailBird w/white-hot would just be a normal retail addition to the current 23' Versa lineup for the same $230 price. But the reason I have slight doubts for a normal priced retail release is because of the continued price-drops of the current 23' Versa lineup. Price drops usually only happen when a line of putters is at the end of it's "life-cycle" (for lack of a better term). For example, the WH OG's and TriHot5k's didn't go on sale until long after they added their second batch of models to the line (over a year had passed until they started going on sale). So I personally wouldn't be too surprised if they did make it a limited-release. Hopefully that makes sense, and hopefully I'm wrong

of Sept” but haven’t heard anything else yet.

 

I did notice there is a new pre-order listing on their site for the WH face, maybe they’re listening?? Hahaha

Got mine in yesterday and have been rolling it on the perfect practice mat.  Initial thoughts- might be the easiest putter I’ve had to get started on line and roll it in.  Will be the true test on the course and see how speed control is as has been my problem with lagging with a counterbalanced putter.  Can’t wait to play it in a round.

One last thing- it’s got a normal looking hosel, not the crimped kind like the tour players had.

Haven't had it outside yet, just indoors. I have the micro hinge version and it's very soft feel, but the ball jumps off the face. I love the counterbalance and the putter is very easy to stroke consistently and keep it online. My misses tend to be left, which I also like (I hate leaving the face open and fanning putts wide right).
