Sorry folks, I'm just getting caught up today after traveling for work the last week. I was able to respond prior to leaving to the buyer's request, to which I offered a full refund. I'm a little taken aback that it's been taken this far, but again, as I've mentioned to him directly, I'm willing to grant the refund (minus the shipping back). I think it's fair to say that my positive rating and history speaks for itself, so if someone is that unhappy with any transaction that I've been a party to, I do my best to make it right.

Doing your best to make it right would be paying for return shipping since you failed to provide accurate pictures of the club's condition in the original post. This is pretty basic stuff man and I have to say it's pretty sad you're asking for him to pay return shipping for an item you misrepresented.

But where did the extensive wear along the bottom edge of the face go? That og ad pic looks like a tour witb pic or something, that wear along the bottom from a sandy range and well located impact marks.

Then the pic of the actual clubs shows a more scattered impact pattern and far less wear at the bottom of the face from ground impact. I do not think they are the same club from pic to pic.

Thanks to everyone who has provided their advice and guidance on this matter. I've finally had a chance to connect live with @zacgolf72 as it relates to the disconnect in the product that was advertised versus the product he received. Once I had a chance to digest his comments (along with everyone here) and put myself in his shoes I gave him the full refund. I too would be equally frustrated if I were on the receiving end. As it turns out, he likes the club and is extremely pleased with its performance, so we've ultimately agreed to a partial refund/rebate. I invite @zacgolf72 to confirm this to be true and that he's ultimately happy with the end result.

Just to reiterate, it has not ever been my intent to deceive or act nefariously on this forum. I have plenty of other members that I've both done business with and had positive interactions with in the past that I think would vouch for me. I hate that it reached this point, but nonetheless it's a good lesson learned.

Once again, I thank everyone for their insights and will be better moving forward.

I’m curious how a +3 could look down at that. 😉

Glad y’all worked it out.

Fair play to you for resolving the issue and looking at it from the buyer's side. It's a shame more of these threads don't end like that. Good stuff seller 👍

Thank you everyone for the investigative work and also some funny comments along the way. The seller fully rectified the situation. I did decide to take the club out because despite the dummy mark, it’s sits so perfect at address and turns out it’s an absolute rocket. Seller agreed to refund me more than I was willing to take for the mishap and we agreed on a number that worked for both parties. Thanks again to the WRX community for the input. And thanks to @AllDunn for making things right.

Glad things worked out but you really need to explain why the pictures in your ad don’t resemble the photos the OP posted. Was the club used more after your photos were taken? And if that’s the case why didn’t you retake photos of the club? That’s more concerning than not originally wanting to issue a full refund.

Thanks for the follow up. I can certainly appreciate your investment into this issue.

Long story short, I was preparing to list the club and took the original pictures in the ad. A member of my club who I play with regularly saw me using a new 7w and asked me what my plans were with the one posted. I let him use it for a  round and range session on a trial basis. He said he didn’t have the swing speed for it and returned it with the Head Cover on and I didn’t think to double check it before posting on here. As I mentioned in a previous post it’s certainly been a lesson learned in doing my own due dilligence, as I take full responsibility for what’s happened.

I’ve since made him aware of the $h!t he got me into and he’s more than made up for it in rounds of beverages in the 19th hole.

Again, I appreciate you following up and making sure justice is served. Hopefully this satisfies your concerns.

I did relatively recently have an employee buy a new Stealth 2 driver, accidentally scratch the crown, and then subsequently sell it to another employee of mine at a ~$200 loss, only to go again buy the exact same driver new.  Said employee (seller) is a +1.X-+2.X handicap and my other employee (buyer) got a solid deal.

I can at least understand the oversight to some degree, but the initial refusal to pay return shipping is kind of a head scratcher. Glad you ended up making it right, though.

And it's completely fair for you to have this opinion. I didn't see it this way at the time. I was traveling on the opposite end of the country and thought my offer of a full refund was fair when I made it. I returned home and had an opportunity to give it more thought and changed course. I'll spare this dead horse from getting beat anymore.

Can't hit a club after pictures are taken to list it , which I'm guessing you already knew anyway.
