That was unfortunate but New England was keying on Marshawn Lynch. It was something of a freak interception. Who knows, maybe Lynch would have fumbled?

After watching a lot of Russel Wilson in Denver, is it possible he changed the call at the line?  He seems to do pretty much what he wants to do.

Nah - Carroll has owned up to calling the play. Another factor was time, which was winding down inside of 30 seconds. After a Lynch run, most people expected NE to call timeout, but they didn’t, which was a genius move in hindsight because of the confusion it caused Seattle. Seattle had 1 timeout remaining and the thought process was to save it for a run play if the pass failed. It was 2nd down, which eliminated the ability to spike the ball if both the pass and run plays failed. An interception on that quick slant was highly improbable unless the ball was tipped into the air.

... Just saw this in this mornings Sun Times and one of the most telling stats for Justin Fields @braincramp52. If there were ever a stat that tells you whether you have a franchise QB this is it. Trailing with less than 4 minutes in the game he has a 22.1 rating. Out of all QB's in the league who have thrown 20 or more passes during the last 4 minutes, Fields ranks last out of 26 QB's that qualified. Josh Allen has a 140.8 rating and the closest to Fields is Minshew with a 42.4. Nobody has thrown more picks than Fields in the last 4 minutes. And to make sure this season isn't an anomaly, Fields ranked 24th out of 25 qualifying QB's last season.

I had the Rams as a pick but I forgot they play on Thursday.  It's not a big deal I was surprised when I woke up this morning at 4 am to go to work

So I will pivot to the Ravens +5 Could be the Super Bowl Preview and MVP Bowl: Lamar, Brock, and CMC, are all in the running.  The niners probably hold off the Ravens but the Ravens cover or win outright.

If the Ravens beat the Niners at home it would vault Lamar into the MVP lead.  That's a big ask.

 

I think Mike Tomlin as a home dog has covered more times than not.  Buy low Buying the Steelers +2

 

I want to take the Titans as a home dog but injuries have decimated them. They have nothing to really play for now

 

There is a QB change in Atlanta and I doubt he is much of an upgrade over D Ridder.  But any upgrade will do. Give me another home dog Atlanta +2
