I like your pick of Seattle over L.A.  Cooper Kupp, their longtime nemesis, is out.  Either the Hawks will fall flat on their face or they will fly high.  Though both teams, tend to play each other close, within a few points.

Even though the Cardinals are my Favorite Team Lite now and right behind the Bears, the thought of Dobbs with about a week under his belt playing QB with a new team when Tune looked really good in pre season is enough for me to throw them under the bus since they are obviously taking for the Williams/Maye #1 pick next draft.

I hope I didn’t offend anyone yesterday.  My issue with college football is this.

 

the CTE studies indicate it can evolve much earlier than thought at lower speed collisions being damaging.  I just feel for those kids who continue to follow their passion (which I wholly support) and their passion is potentially damaging the rest of their lives.

 

and they do it for education, which is fantastic, but D1 athletes are athletes first and students second.

 

I love sports and what athletes learn through competition, but for those who don’t make it to the pros it is hard for me to support.

I hear you, Pete. It starts long before college, though. I saw both of my boys get rung up on the football field pretty hard - one in grade school and one in middle school. While not officially diagnosed, each probably had a minor concussion. Neither one played the following year, not because my wife and I didn’t allow it, but because we all discussed the risks and let our boys decide. Not as much was known about CTE then, and honestly, we were probably more concerned with spinal injuries. Looking back, I’m glad they chose other, less risky sports, as well as other extracurricular pursuits, like music. I feel for parents of football players. I love the sport and enjoyed playing it, but man, it has some serious risks.
