Modern day equivalent of Titleist 695 cb

Short question: does anybody know what the modern day equivalent to the titleist 695 cb would be?

Long question: I’ve been gaming mizuno mp20 mb irons for the last 4 years and I’m now looking to step into something more forgiving.  My previous set were titleist 695 cb’s. I took these out for a few rounds and they’re basically exactly what I’m looking for. They’re insanely forgiving with great performance. The groves are totally worn out on some irons and I’m not looking to do an Adam Scott and play a historic set.

Has anybody had experience with the 695 cb and can tell me what the modern day equivalent would be? I know the obvious answer should be the 620 cb but I’m not so sure if it is. The 620 cavity looks smaller and from what I can gather online the 695 cb was potentially a unicorn in terms of forgiveness for the cb lineup but I’ve also seen sites call it unforgiving so I guess it’s all relative in terms of what is forgiving.

I will be getting fit but you can only learn so much in a fitting, especially when trying multiple heads.

My current plan is to try

Apex pro

T150

P770

Zx7

923 forged would be a good one add to your list. You can also check out Cool clubs reviews to compare them, especially if you have a particular contact location miss.

Don’t sleep on the 620s. Like you, I really loved the 695CBs. I am in my second set of 620s now and really enjoy them a lot - maybe even more than the 695s.

id suggest checking out the Srixon ZX7s, too. They are a little bigger than the 695s, but are softer and longer with a great sole grind if it fits you.

The other set I would suggest is the PXG 0311Ts and 0317CBs. The CBs might actually be really similar to the 695s. I’ve only hit them in the long irons, but they strike similar chords. The 0311Ts, candidly, are not too similar to the CBs, but they sure are fun to play!

would you say the 620 and 695 are similar in terms of forgiveness?

I played the 695cb's for 2-3 seasons when they were released. All of the irons on your list are good irons but for a 695cb replacement, the zx7 is the one that checks most of the boxes.  I don't know much about the soon to be released Callaway X Forged CB but the prior 2 versions are probably the closest matches to the 695cb's that I can think of for more recent releases.

It’s hard for me to say. It has been a few years since I played the 695s and I am a much better player now. I don’t find the 620s to be unforgiving. They might be a touch smaller than the 695s, but I think they would be pretty comparable.

if you want some additional forgiveness, check out the ZX7s.

Is there a 623 coming? Haven’t seen anything on those.

Steven Alker won a bunch of times with them last year on the Champions Tour.

Looking at the Maltby Playability Factors (basically measuring CG and blade length and such) the T100-S is very close in terms of numbers to the 695CB with similar Game Improvement ratings.  I would say pick your poison on those, if you want new and a bit more ball speed go T150, if you want a bit more traditional loft gapping, go T100.
