The turbulators do do something. They turbulate! Just let them freaking turbulate the ball further it works or maybe straighter?? Lol... the lst is very straight driver and has the smaller nicer head shape vs the 10k being bigger foot print so thats what i like lst more for i think.

Anyway, Ping already tipped their hand on turbulators when they pulled them from their fairway wood and hybrid lines. And they'll be gone from drivers, too, eventually.

 

Look at all the head-to-head videos online. Ping isn't beating competitors on clubhead speed, and if they were, other companies would be introducing their own (non-patent-infringing) versions.

 

Turbulators are about marketing and aesthetics far more than performance. Do that have an impact on head speed? I doubt it, but if so, it's so minuscule as to be imperceptible in terms of outcomes. 

Ping pulled them from the fairway\hybrid lineup  because the benefit wasn't noticeable. Different story for the drivers. If they ever discontinue them it won't be because they didn't work. Sorry.

Welcome to a Ping pre-release thread!  It's the wild wild west according to some.

 

Looking forward to more reviews of this driver!  The turbulators don't bother me, and I can see a future fitting and purchase of this release.

I guess I’m the only one who really likes the turbulators as an alignment aid. The dots on the fairways look cheap to me. To each their own…

So funny how some keep commenting on the looks or sound of the new Ping releases.  

You would assume Ping would get off their high horse, and cater to these five vocal people on the internet.  
 

It sounds and looks like a golf club to me.

Follow up on this… my 10K is LOUD!  It gives great audio feedback and it’s performing well so far.  

 

It’s still cold up here and I haven’t gotten on trackman yet, but it seems like a winner.  I’ve been swapping between the Black 65X, Black 75X, and a ADBB6X (turned down to 7.5º 🤤) and all three are giving different results.

 

But yes, it’s loud.  I love it.  Very much so.

According to this research paper, turbulators are all about performance not marketing or aesthetics. While a 1 mph gain over the same club head without turbulators isn’t earth shattering, these small gains do add up. 

 

 

The faster the clubhead speed, the greater the gains from what I understand.  the turbulators work at all swing speeds, but the highest swing speed players benefit the most.

I'm at the point I don't even notice them when I line up my driver.  I know they are there, but I don't think about them  to the point of a distraction.
