Didn't you just sell your Lajosi putter a few weeks ago?

Lajosi is a good bet as is Lamont.  For the new guys on the block, I'd suggest you give Josey at Mack Made serious consideration as well.

But I just checked his site and noticed he still sells blank heads cheap so not awful. But his prices for me even being Canadian are too much for a custom. A blank head I'd buy. 

I had never heard of Hudson putters until reading this thread. It was mentioned he sells blank heads (I’m a sucker for a simple blank head) so I immediately went to his website to check them out. I already have a few Newport and Newport 2 style heads so I messaged him about his Wesley shape. We messaged back and forth for several days (his communication was top notch even through the holidays) and I asked if he could make the neck into more of a swan neck with minimal toe hang. He said he could do that no problem. Even got the headweight to what I wanted. Ordered it last week (he didn’t charge any extra to do my requests) and it arrived today. This thing is real nice. Exactly what I wanted. I have a custom Mackmade and a few custom putters Slighter worked on for me and those are beautiful custom putters no doubt. But I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to let Mike build me a custom putter in the future. I just wanted to share my experience with him since his name has come up in this thread. And like you said the blank heads are a great deal for the price.

For a blank head that looks amazing and a great price to boot. He even has LH heads, extra credit points there as well.

Already shafted it up, did some paint fill and been rolling putts with it.

I'll echo the sentiment on the Hudson Made, I recently got a blank as well and I'm nothing but impressed .  I ordered a Carman with a flowneck and he nailed the specs perfectly, I love it. 

              In the last few years I've had customs made by two people, including one that has become extremely popular in the boutique market and he completely ignored my most crucial request regarding face milling and stated he did that because HE thought it felt better to him , the other failed to get the overall weight anywhere close to what I asked for and defended it by saying better putters preferred lighter heads.  

      The Hudson blank, while the options were limited considering what it is designed to be, a customizable blank, were spot on in every variable. I'm capable of doing some of the little personalized touches so it was a perfect option for me, if his full customs are shown the same attention to the clients requests as the blanks are then I have to think it would be a strong choice.

Silly question... Is this worked off a blank as you call it or he still starts from a raw billet?

Not quite sure what you are asking. It’s his blank head he makes that’s called Trebek with the neck welded on.

I am wondering if he buys blanks off somewhere and works on those blanks.  Its not unheard of.

Oh gotcha. I’m not sure on that. I know normally his blank trebek comes with a plumbers neck but I had him weld this pipe neck on mine.

If you want some tech behind the face, look into NCW. All are 3D printed and can get your putter weighted more like a mallet thanks to some of the internals. 
 

I’ve owned one of each and will second your opinion here. I’ll throw out Legend Golf Company as well - I just got in a custom center shaft from Joe the other day. He’s great to work with, super nice guy. 
 

I will also add Tyler Lowy Ctrl - he’s all hand milled vs cnc, and his work is spectacular. Currently on the waitlist for #M008  - https://www.instagram.com/tlowy_ctrl/

Joe's putters are super underrated, have one myself I won in an auction and it's great but may move it and buy a more proper custom from him.

The blank carbon Trebek showed up yesterday.  I had a sight dot added on the order.  I installed a KBS CT Tour Military Green shaft, paint filled the sight dot with a flat military green paint I had to match, and then finished it off with an Iomic grip.  I think it came out great...and all for a very reasonable out of pocket cost.  Only wish is that the milling wasn't as deep but other than that it's a fine flat stick.
