I see the LPGA Sr. Championship is at Copper Rock this week. Bummer that I can't find any TV coverage at all, not even on Sunday.

The Epson Tour was there last week.

It took a while but Rose Zhang finally reached 100,000 Instagram followers.  Rose has been hyped by American Golf Industrial Complex incessantly, but her grass root support seems to move at a snail pace.

Other than Nelly Korda; Muni He and Charley Hull are the only two accounts that have been active over the last one year or so.

CPKC is usually one of the most attended tournament among North American LPGA tournaments:

2024 CPKC Women’s Open brings world-class golf to Calgary

"The 2023 tournament attracted 63,000 spectators and raised more than $3 million for the B.C. Children’s Hospital, and tournament organizers are hoping to surpass that this year."

However, 63,000 spectators is a little disappointing.

The 2015 USWO at Lancaster was the most attended USWO ever; it had 135,000 spectators that week.  Ticket sales of the 2024 USWO at Lancaster next week is reported strong but tickets are still available.  The two most important gauge for LPGA's popularity are TV rating and tournament attendance; hopefully Nelly's higher star profile will start to help.

I expect Nelly Korda, Hannah Green and Rose Zhang to play well next week at USWO; but my other two other favorites Linn Grant and Leona Maguire have been having up and down years.

Stats showed Linn has been hampered by erratic driving and poor putting while Leona's driving off the tee continues to struggle.  Hopefully both will show up next week.

Keep in mind that Canada has just over 10 percent the population of the U.S. Not sure how many Americans were willing to drive up from Seattle last year.

Probably more than will be driving up from Missoula, Montana to Calgary this year?  🙂

I hadn't realized that metro Seattle was that large, well over 4 million, but Vancouver itself is roughly 2.5 million.  Conversely, sometimes it seems like the profile of the event locally doesn't get as high in large cities where there is so much other stuff going on; attending in the Toronto area in 2019 I saw nothing in terms of advertisement or mention and friends living there were not even aware it was on....quite different in 2018 Regina, people there knew they were unlikely to see high level pro golf again for a long time.

Probably explains the decent attendance in Toledo and Rogers, Arkansas.

The no.1 ranked golfer in the world is so close to catching up to the unranked self proclaimed scratch golfer Claire Hogle on IG. I think Nelly can do it 🤞

Where's Annika?  Oh, Gen Z... hmmm... who do i know?  Raducanu is still playing tennis?  I only know of Caitlin due to being "cheap shotted" (if there's a word) by some other WNBA player (trending!)

Ok seriously, I don't know anyone there save for Nellie, Clark and Raducanu.  Z is the last letter of the alphabet anyway, so it's not that used... 😛

I assume Paige is Gen Z, I honestly pay next to zero attention to what she does.

It just cracks me up people "follow" Instagram/YouTube golfers than Pro's. But, I see why..

Just follow Bryson, he's morphed into both an Instagram/YT golfer and a touring pro, so:

Plus you get the added bonus of plenty of Paige on Bryson's content.

Everyone's a winner.

I'm very much anticipating the women teeing it up at St Andrews. Since the last time there it feels like the women's game has had big progress in lots of ways but certainly with respect to purses and I'll admit I am much more interested nowadays. Two weeks of the LPGA in Scotland is great. Let's hope it's sunny with a breeze.

I know it has it critics but I've always liked Evian. Quite a few players do cite it as their favourite event.
