is hint was "related to Ryan's fitness goals" for what its worth.

??? Fitness goals? All I can think of there is speed training without hitting a ball. But that's hardly a big thing.

I'm not sure what more tech wise can be done. It measures just about all you'd want it to measure. It doesn't measure some little things like VSP or HSP… but other than that…?

That is my guess, it may provide readings for speed training devices like "The Stack System" etc....  However I wouldn't classify that as game changing.  The removal of the need for club face stickers for measurements, streamlining of licensing or impact camera would be more impactful.  I'm on the fence between Trackman and Quad.  I feel like Trackman has better software but I hate that you have to license for both indoor and outdoor use.

For the cost of either of those, you shouldn't have to make concessions to get what you want.

I'd lean toward the Quad for three main reasons:

  • Standardized data.
  • No subscription fee.
  • More actually measured info/data (the clubface stuff isn't an approximation based on cameras and algorithms).

But good luck. Both are good.

Good points. IMO, the complication of club stickers has always been a major detractor for the Quad vs. Trackman. For someone who loves club testing and comparison, its a PITA.

Its not nearly as bad as people say. Granted, I have a GC3 so its only one sticker as opposed to what, 4 that the quad takes? But I buy the dots 3rd party for super cheap and hundreds at a time, so when I take the dots off for competitions, I dont feel so bad and its easy to just stick new ones on there.

Trackman you have to buy specific balls to get accurate data which to me is a bigger PITA. When I got fitted at Club Champion on a Trackman, I was using their RCT ball which obviously isnt my normal ball. Then they guy told me to switch to my gamer but now we dont know if the data is right as its just estimating. Plus balls are a lot more expensive than stickers and I crack balls after continued use pretty regularly.

I like golf. A lot.

I sold my quad about a month ago because the tech is just getting so much cheaper.

Got a full swing kit new for 4,000 and I actually prefer it by a mile over the quad just because of how well it works with apps and IOS.

I also absolutely love that I don't need stickers anymore. I have found my full swing kit with the RCT titleist balls gives pretty damn accurate numbers. A lot more accurate than I am and I'm better than scratch.

On a 180 yard shot 2% accuracy difference (which according to MGS is how close this thing is) is 3.6 yards.

Thats close enough for me.

It'd be nice to see Foresight drop some prices on the GC3 and Quad.

They've been selling them fully loaded for $15k for about five months at this point.

While that's not much I'd definitely appreciate that. And hopefully there's some more stuff. I've tried some other swing speed measuring devices that you can use without a ball, and so far I haven't found anything that gives very consistent readings. Just purchased the PRGR and it's giving me readings all over the place.

It's going to be a long month waiting for PGA show..

You can club data without stickers on Full swing. Do you play golf on it or just practice

And, way easier to bring a Quad on the course for tournament practice rounds, than a Trackman

I ended up trading for a Bushnell Launch Pro last year, and I'm still trying to work out what my plans are with it. If Foresight releases something game breaking, I might have to bite, especially since there were complications when I got the launch pro. Like others have said, impact location without stickers would be amazing, and the tech has to come down in price, since they're not alone in the market any more.

I have a GC Quad and emailed Foresight salesman this week. Said he can’t provide details just yet for new tech or price but would be in touch soon.

The stickers are not a big deal, you don’t need them for ball data or sim use. FSX Play really improved graphics and very user friendly. PGA tour guys are mostly using Quad for “best” ball data. They don’t use stickers when warming up so not getting club data. However, I do agree it would be nice to not need them.

Yup. Everytime I see kids with a trackman at the range I laugh.  They have the unit, an ipad, and some type of stand to hold the ipad.  I just plop down my gc3 and go to work.  If I want to take it to the course its a breeze as well.

I have both…indoor studio in my house, live where it rains a ton so I hit balls/practice often…gc in my worthless opinion is more reassuring, data is spot on, I guess I just don’t ever question the data where there are times where I feel the TMis off…cant argue about cameras…stickers are a pain no doubt,  I end up leaving them on all the time, even when playing…the simplicity of the unit is so good, customer service is terrible, they literally dropped off the crate with all the stuff and that’s it…the video playback has been a real pain to me and I’m sure I’ve not done is completely correct, purchased a couple small cameras, works fine, clarity sucks, playback happens to quick…as others have said it is easy to take unit to course to play or practice

Trackman 4, I use it indoors because I video my swing often, being able to simply use my iPhone or iPad for the “camera” is awesome…the playback feature on Trackman is better and the clarity of the video is better…I don’t do the annual subscription with TM, I think that is absurd…TM customer service is incredible…I’ve had it 5 years, customer service walked me thru a slight problem I had, service agent said if I wasn’t comfortable trying to work thru the fix they would overnight me a unit while mine is being fixed

Wish it was Android compatible.  Kinda laughable and strange since Android has ~70% market share.  Or even PC...

That there are virtually no good Android-exclusive apps is telling. 😄

Been wanting to pick up a quad for a while now in hopes that at some point in the near future I'll have a place I can build a simulator - a price drop would be most welcome.

As for the dots, stop overpaying for them. Buy a giant roll of metallic HVAC duct tape and punch your own. I think I paid $5 for a roll a couple years ago and there is no way I will ever run out.
