Anyone Still in SIM/SIM Max Driver?

Been playing an OG 16 M2 for 4+ years now and have been itching to shake things up. Tried a SIM Max head a couple years ago and it didn’t beat out the M2 so I sold it. Just snagged a lower loft normal SIM yesterday and like the idea of the sliding weight + fade bias. Still in route to me, but will report results upon arrival. 

 

I’ve been super reluctant on newish TM and the carbon face craze, so hopefully this will scratch my itch enough to realize that newer technology still isn’t necessary! Lol.

 

Anybody else care to comment?

OG 16 M2 9.5 was the best driver I’ve ever owned. 
 

I really wish there was another driver that did everything she did. 9.5 loft with a square face…. Man I miss those days.

I prefer nice high launch so I have a 12* M2 set lower for an open face angle. SIM is gonna be 10.5*, with some minor error built in, but it will interesting to see how it plays.
 

I ordered an additional 14g weight to throw in the track(toe side) to match my 210-211g M2, playing around 43.75”.

Still playing Sim max d, liked it enough that I bought a backup driver, ended up saying "bleep it, let's give a 2 driver bag a try"

 

Like you, I've been reticent to play the new stealths, although I hit one at a full bag fitting and it performed well for me. Even if budget wasn't a concern, I would probably skip the stealth lineup because I have concerns about the face.

Still packing my sim max 9 degree turned down one click. It's been just as long as any of the new stuff and I've tried constantly to kick it outta the bag. The only thing I don't like on tm's is if you miss it on the heel it's  more punishing than other brands.

I never got on with my Sim Max due to the fade bias that I wasn’t aware of when I bought it until I read it on here. All the OB on my course is right side and I play a draw, but I couldn’t get the Max to turn over at all.

 

Swapped out for a tsr2 last year and best decision I’ve ever made when it comes to my driver.

Yep, still gaming a Sim Max 9.0 @ one-click lower. I also just purchased a 10.5 Sim to try which is in a trial phase.

Funny, I just picked up an excellent condition OG M2 from Cally preowned for pretty cheap because I actually have a Sim Max and I cant hit the thing to save my life. The loft is way way too low for me though, 8* so that's probably why. I've messed wit the setting and I just cant find one that works. For some reason TM drivers and have never gotten along so I figure if I cant hit the M2 I should just something else.

I've got a 10.5 Sim turned down to lower with a Tensei Blue. Each year I'll demo the new drivers and haven't hit anything that would knock it out of the bag. Tested the QI10 two weeks ago and the Sim held it's own.....slightly less carry on average, similar total distance and lower spin than the QI10.

I've had both and they're one of TM's best drivers of all time, IMO.  I would have no problem gaming one as we speak.  The best combo was the SIM/SIM MAX paired with Ventus Black for me.  Mid launch/low spin bombs all day.

I recently went back to my Sim Max 9.0* and I love this thing. I gamed one for all of 2021 and tinkered with Ping G410/425 LST, Titleist Tsi3, Sim 2, Cobra LTDx and LTDx LS for '22 and '23. The TaylorMade just gives me the confidence out on the course to play any kind of shot and it's forgiving enough while still looking awesome down at the ball. Its really hard to beat for me.

Well….had a very technical shootout with a “equivalent” SIM head and the results were a little underwhelming. The look and finish of the head is miles ahead of my M2 and I really wanted it to be better, but it just wasn’t. I modified tee height several times here too, to accommodate the shallower face, but center vs center shots were always just better with my M2. 
 

Like I said, I REALLY wanted the SIM to unseat the gamer, but the M2 lives on as the legendary specimen that it is.

You may like the SIM2 better.  Go test one if the opportunity presents itself.  I've had the SIM/SIM MAX/SIM2 and preferred the SIM2.  HIghest ball speeds outta the three, looks and feels better as well.  Slightly more forgiving as well.

I hit a Sim2 the other day and miss that feel of the Sim/Sim2.

The original Sim is lower spin and more fade biased than the Sim2

OG SIM is lower launch/spin than SIM2.  I played OG SIM 9* and SIM2 8* for reference.  Can't say for sure which one's hotter but prefer the SIM2 over OG from a forgiveness standpoint.

Been gaming OG SIM 8* since it came out. Recently was fitted into a new driver so we will see how that goes.

Still in Sim. Have removed the sliding weight and installed heavier rear weight.
