So he is going Logan Olson, instead of the TP Reserve putter he was using (which was a proto and non-retail).

 

Nelly Korda was working with a Logan Olson putter...  So was Scottie Scheffler (although he's currently using a proto Spider.)

 

Makes one think that perhaps TaylorMade will soon be putting Logan Olson under their wing and partnering, as Titleist has done with Scotty Cameron, and Callaway has gone with Toulon.

Well considering Scottie won when he changed from the Olson, so did Nelly, really curious which putter will be in Collin's bag next week. They look amazing but hard to market them as Taylormade if all their pros won't play them.

Looks very retail-ready, despite the naked sole--doesn't have proto stamped anywhere on it, and it's definitely toned down compared to what Scotty and Nelly were given. With that TaylorMade partnership/rumor, and TM just slashing their price on their milled line of putters, almost feels imminent that we see their collab drop, and this putter looks like a prime candidate.

They are definitely beautiful looking putters. But at the end of the day, just another “fancy” Anser. Less and less pros playing blade putters. Does Olson only make the Anser copies?

Ya his work is basically all blades. I thought I remembered 1 mallet way back but I couldn’t find it on Instagram

I'm thinking the price drop on the current TP Reserve line is because a refresh is incoming... we'll see. I would think any Olson collab would come in at a higher price point.

The TPR line isn't even a year old yet, and they don't typically refresh their top putter lines each year. But who knows? It hasn't sold well apparently, but I would be surprised if they went out of their way to get the Olson partnership/acquisition(?) to not use it. Maybe I'm just being too optimistic. His putters are incredible, and would love to see them made a little more accessible.

I have rolled a few balls with the TRR line when the sales rep came around last fall.  They do feel great, but I can see TM going on a tangent and having Logan Olson start making them.  (Perhaps yes, perhaps no.)  However, it is not beyond TM to abandon a line in a short period of time.  Sure, Logan Olson appears to be making just blades, for now, but with the $$$ of TaylorMade behind him, it will be like Scotty.  Mallets will come in bounds soon.  Also, Logan Olson can probably do a spin on the Spyder line, which Scotty just went to a week or so ago.  Time will tell.

Most OEMs these days have their version of the Spider. Just like all have their version of the Anser and the Odyssey 7 (fang). Heck, about the only new original designs getting play on tour are probably the LABs.

Probably because they wanted some sort of vibration filtering material behind the insert. Generally a vibration dampening layer.
