Rory Testing Olson Putter

Looks like Rory was testing an Olson putter at the same time as the new Brnr before the Masters. This one didn't make the cut but curious if anyone knows what model it was.

It looks like thats just a demo bag of TM clubs? Either way, I believe almost all TM staffers were sent offers to try Olson putters in some form or fashion.

Slightly off topic but I wish Rory hadn't switched away from his Spider Hyrdroblast.  He finished like 15th on the tour in putting with it one year.  Not bad at all

That’s what I thought too but you can see a Ryder Cup Europe alignment stick cover in there. Also all the clubs have his preferred grip.

I don’t think it is the arrow.. or I guess in this case the bow. The ball being the arrow.. 

 

although I think he needs a ball that spins more as well. But that is a different topic.

It’s ok to just use ‘archer’ and ‘arrow’. Everyone knows what is meant. And a perfect opportunity to roll one’s eyes at the member that feels the need to chime in with his/her literal interpretation of the saying.  🙄

In Rory’s case, it’s definitely the preliminary indigenous occupant, not the arrow. 😆

 

Agree that he definitely improved with the Hydroblast “arrow” though. Still didn’t putt as well as he did with the Scotty he used in his youthful Titleist days, but IMO, it’s mental, not mechanical.
 

Most of those guys could putt well with anything, given enough time or practice. He led the Tour in putting average in 2014. That type of talent doesn’t just disappear, it’s hiding inside his head somewhere.
