Anti-hook 5/7 wood ?

Looking to pick up a 5 wood for shorter tee shots. I’ve hooked my previous 7W and hybrid, what would you recommend I look at? Going to buy used if that helps. Thanks!

Cobra LTDX is pretty good. I have a 80G TX Tensei Black in mine and it doesn’t ever hook 

 

They’re super cheap now on the used market.

The cobra Aerojet LS woods were noticeably more fade biased vs their regular aerojets.  And a little more fade biased than Titleist tsi.

 

A stiffer shaft should help.

Darkspeed LS 5 wood has been pretty good for me. Swap the 15 gram weight from the heel to the back and put the 3 in the heel.

I actually settled on a Titleist TS3, mostly due to the adjustability of it.

I agree, I play an LTDx 7 wood one click open and it doesn't go left for me at all.

 

That being said, it sits very upright and opening the face exaggerates that even more, so depending on someone's start line it might or might not work.

Cobra LTDx LS 5 wood. Absolute 🚀.  Long off the tee, super easy to hit off of the deck, and very very workable. Definitely more anti-hook than most fairway woods.

I have an old TM TP 17^o hybrid that did just that.  A little too low launching for me, so it was fine off the tee but didn't work so well in the fairway or rough.

 

Tried a higher-launching shaft that kinda helped getting some air under the ball, but then I started spraying it all over the place.

 

So now it just sits there, looking at me sadly from the "other clubs" bag.

Check your ball position - I found mine drifted back in my stance and once I fixed that no more problems.  I find the TSI2 sits relatively open too.

Look at the shaft length of  your prior 7W. If it's too long for stance, you can rock the heel back slightly at address and accidentally set up a closed face.

I just tried a bunch and it was all about getting the best ball flight and repeatability. I decided on the Ping G430 MAX with the Chrome Tour 2.0 75g stiff shaft. I think adjustability is key with 7 woods. Allows you to get the look you like from address. I cannot recall the last Ping fairway club I had in the bag but it was a hybrid. The 430 is a great fit for me. Looks very inviting to hit and it delivers on that. Very consistent. I like the mid-sized shape.  
 

Runner-ups for me were the Mizuno ST230 and PXG Gen 6. (I have a PXG Black Ops 4 hybrid in the bag that is a winner, but I liked Gen 6 fairways more than Black Ops.) The Mizuno is a seriously nice club and also cheaper now.
