Any manner of dressing that specifically mimics some particular player. The "Greg Norman" look used to be very popular, for example.

The "Jimmy Buffett" look - he's a hack musician and certainly not a role model for golfers.

The "sponsored" look for the average golfer. You know, adidas shoes with a 100% TM set and bag, Burner hat etc...

I agree with a lot of these except the pink one because I have an Under Armour pink polo shirt with a breast cancer logo on the left bicep and I think that's really cool. I am proud of that shirt because my grand mother and aunt both had breast cancer and beat it.

I guess the only things that really bug me are:
1) People that don't dress appropriately at the course.
2) People that think it is ok to drive like an a** in the golf cart.
3) People that get sloppy drunk on the course, it's ok to have a few beers within your limits. Please don't get so drunk you are drooling on yourself and/or being a nuisance to other people on the course.

This applies to the course and practice areas. If you are going to the course after work then take a change of clothes with you.

I don't think looking respectable is too much to ask.

I really don't like it when someone dresses like a bigshot but they're a horrible golfer. Just the other day i played with a guy who must have been wearing a $500 PUMA outfit (black and orange). Although the outfit looked sick, he didn't even come close to breaking 100.

Pleats. In general, not only on the golf couse. Pleats are horrible. Shorts that go below the knee. I don't want to see shorts that are too short either but there is a balance. Once they go beyond the knee, why not just wear slacks?

I really dont care too much what people wear on the course, but sorta prefer to live by the credo of 'if you wouldnt wear it it to a (roughish) bar on the way home- don't wear it' Garish yellow shirt with red trou etc- pink & white belts- with dark trou and tight shirts that look like you stole it from your little brother with fetching pink stripes to match your belt!! Most would never wear that gear off a course, so why look camp on the course?

So golfers can't dress nicely because they don't have a tour event near them or on the tour? Cool. I was wondering why I was spending this money on decent pants/shirts. Now, I can just wear cargo pants and wife beaters.

Doesn't really happen on the course but I see it all the time at The Memorial Tournament. People who "pop their collars". You looks absolutely retarded to the point I want to kick you in the kidney's.

I have been able to amass and amazing collection of golf wear by being diligent on e bay and other places. I typically wear 5x shirts and have a 50 inch waist, but I still color coordinate perfectly and always tuck in my clothes and make sure I match from head to toe. I think everything Fowler is doing is wonderful and I have even submitted some of my own thoughts to Puma on other color combos that might work well. Mauve is my favorite color and I would love to see some outfits around it perhaps in plaid. [/size]

With my usual playing partners, I'll bust out pink and brown and walk up and say, "What?" Another day I'll throw in purple, maybe yellow another day. Be brave people! But if there is ANYTHING that just torques me, is golf sandals! AGGGGH!

Can't stand

1. Long billowy loose shirts withnsleeves that extend way past your elbow case.
2. Tiger woods style loose tapered pants. Eyesore!!!!
3. Shorts that are way above the knee as in way above. We aren't dressing like freddy mercury here!
4. Guys that have their mobile cases attached to their belts
5. Guys that wear sunglass strings, so not in the times!
6. Jeans should be banned end of story.
7. Cycling style caps as popularized by parnevik
8. The JL decked newbie. If your going to sport JL gear I don't want to see a chipper and. 7h in your bag
9. Guys with beer bellies sporting the latest puma tight fitting moisture wick shirts.
10 older ladies that dress Paula creamer

Any place that allows people to play in jeans or t-shirts should be closed down. Have some pride in your course even if it's a muni.

Mock T's are not golf shirts period.

Any type of sandal on men or women. It's an athletic game. Put on a shoe that offers support over 4 hours of playing.

Other than that feel free to wear any combination of colors, prints, or designers as long as you feel you can pull it off and tuck your shirt in!
