The New Titleist Clubs Are Coming!

Recommended Posts

do you know if the 585, 906, and detour will be available left hand at the august 15 release date. thanks

Wally is always pretty good to us so I would say at least some lofts will be available LH. As for the Detour, this question was asked on SC.com recently and I'm pretty sure we are getting both configurations.

Just a follow up to the Detour LH, here is the direct question on SC.com:

Q:I know as a lefty, I am out of luck on some designs. Any chance of limited lefty runs.?

Scotty:I don't have any plans for a limited edition lefty at the moment, but the new Detour is coming out in full production in left-handed versions. Thanks for the email.

I'll be interested to see what the word "left-handed VERSIONS" means. I would be nice to have some options that we haven't had in awhile.

KevCarter, JHR or anyone else who has experience with the 585:

What's distance and trajectory like? I carry a 15* 3w and a 20* 695cb 3i. Is the 19* a fairly long hitter and a suitable strong lofted 2i replacement? 210ish is my comfortable 3i, so I'm looking for a 220-225 club. I can get that distance out of a steel shafted 19* Taylor RM TP for reference. Also, has anyone hit the 585 shafted with DG? TIA.

I have only spent about 2 hours hitting the prototypes, so don't take this as gospel, but I think the 19° will be just what you are looking for. If I were you, I would do some comparison testing between the 17° and 19°. I'm not a strong enough player to get the elevation I need out of the 17°, but my ss is only about 102.

Thanks Kevin. That's my plan. I was fit for my current sticks through Titleist Fitting Works. Great experience btw. The Titleist fitters speculated that the 19* shafted with a DG would be the ticket, although they were not totally up to speed with the yet to be released clubs.

Hey RobS,

Plese keep me posted as to what you decide, and how it works out. This early in the product cycle, I'm always looking for information that can help me in my club fitting. I'm glad you enjoyed the Titleist Fitting Works experience!

Well that sucks about the Proto, that is what I was wanting to get in the 906. How does the V3 shaft play? I think I am going to get the 585 with a speeder 904H. But I can't decide between 17 or 19 degree. I think I am going to get the 15 degree 906. Does anyone have any advice on which loft to get in the 585?

I just came back from a local Pro Pro event in Nashville for our Section, And the Titleist Rep was there with all the new sticks coming out. He had the 585.H which looked alot like the Adams hybrid that i have in my bag at address. He also had the 906f2 which looked good but did not have the flat black finish that the tour guys are hitting. Also there was the Detour Cameron with the orange headcover. He told me that all would hit the stores in about three weeks. :man_in_love:

755's are also coming out... My titleist rep was here today also, and she has the new line of cobra irons... they are coming out with a very interesting model... is called the "carbon cb" and it looks like a low handicap iron... the only catch is that is cast, not forged... they are awesome looking, I took some pics that I will be posting later...

I really like the looks of the new titleist 3 wood, and the finish is pretty nice too... not a regular shinny finish, is glossy... pretty interesting

Those Pictures are great. Thanks for the thread! I tell ya, it is hard to look the other way. Everything from the 755 to the 585 to the 906 looks to good to be true. Even though I love my current setup these offering makes me... well.... :man_in_love: :cheesy: ;) WANT THEM ALL!!!

I hit JHR's 585, and know that will be a hit. Sets up real strong. The leading edge looks like it is sharp and gives the impression it is going to help the ball get off the ground easier. Real good looking head behind the ball. Mucho confidence.

The same for the 906. Could not stop hitting this head at the range. Liked it better than the F3-05. Same look with the leading edge. Kevin, did you see the same thing?

For anybody interested, I put some pictures of the new Titleist / Cobra clubs on my personal website. It contains the first picture I have seen of the new Baffler Pro and a new stock Speeder Baffler shaft. These are all pics of the reps sles samples. I hope you enjoy, sorry, I'm not the greatest photographer.

Titlesit Cobra Coming August 15th

Those 755 irons look fantastic. Offset? How much? Compare to something?

Richard,

I have not seen the F3-05 in person, so I can't make a comparison. A couple weeks ago I hit the 906 and 585 for a couple hours, and I fell in love with them too. The only club I didn't hit well was the 585 17°, not enough elevation for my swing speed, but I loved the 19° and 21°. I can't wait to try the 24° too. It may make me take the 4 iron out of the bag, we'll see. The biggest surprise for me was the 906 18°. Solid, high flight, but not spinny like most 4/5 woods. That might make my bag too. Good thing I am the rules committee at my club, do you think 20 clubs in the bag is going overboard? :)

rac LT player here who is intrigued by the 755's. My questions:

1. The stock shaft is not going to be DG?? Very surprised. More info on this trispec shaft is requested, particularly how it compares to DG, which i find too heavy and tip stiff. If the trispec shaft is a little softer than a DGS-300, i'm sold.

2. Is the offset similar to the 704's? I actually like a bit of offset, like the current rac LT's.

3. How do they feel? I found the 704's to be clunky, hoping for a smoother, softer feel from the 755. Thanks.

1) About 10 grams lighter. softer tip for slightly higher launch.

2) Offset similar to 704's.

3) Softer feel than 704's.

The Verdict:

Cobra Baffler Pro

Probably for the better player/ customers asking for a square version

Very Nice Sole Design, shoud rip through the grass and the club sits very nicely now that there is a square version

Titleist 906F2

If I were a lower handicap i'd have em straight away, dead square I'd say, lovely finish on the crown, face of club looks very powerful

At last sll the people who love Titleist can have better woods (in my opinion the r was dissapointing)

755's Are

UG-LE!

I went to order a Detour today and was told no 350 gram 33" model. Anyone confirm they are available. I had them ask custom and was told no.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
