Davis Love III Cameron Putter and Cover Collection Pics

Over the last couple of years I've had the distinct pleasure to spend some time around Davis and his caddy, Jeff while out cover PGA Tour events for GolfWRX. Davis & his son are Scotty Cameron fans and the two of them collect Scotty putters & covers. I have passed on to Davis a couple of "special" covers that some members of The Cameron Collector have sent to me with a request to give to Davis for his collection. We also have talked about putters and new covers a number of times.

 

Davis has always been very co-opperative when it comes to allowing me to take photos of his clubs for GolfWRX what's in the bag, especially when it comes to photographing whatever Cameron is in the bag. Sure makes my job easier.

 

Well last year I spoke with Davis about getting photos of his putter collection (I had some covers that I was also giving him for his collection). I mentioned that I would be covering his event at Sea Island and he said why didn't I plan on coming by his house to shoot his Cameron putters. Needless to say, that was even better than having him send me the photos. So on Monday of the McGladreys, I speak with Davis' daughter in the media center and mentioned shooting the Cameron collection. She was a bit concerned on how that was going to happen since her dad wasn't in town.

 

See, Davis was still in Wales at a little event called the Ryder Cup (rain had extended play into Monday) and he wasn't going to be back home in Sea Island until late Tuesday. Lexie said she would call her dad, see what he had planned for the photo shoot and let me know by the end of the day Monday.

 

Monday afternoon I get a text saying to come by the DL,III house Tuesday morning around 9 am and I could do the photo shoot. The photos you see below are the results of that photo shoot. Lexie thought that there might be a few more Cameron items that her brother had but that was all she could find at the time.

 

Check out the gold plated Cameron putters in his collection that commemorate some of Davis' wins out on tour that are very rare.

 

So Wednesday, I'm on the range tee at the McGLadreys and Davis walks out on the tee to shoot a Titleist commercial (they had been waiting for him for a while). He sees me about 50 yards down the range tee and walks over to ask me if I got all the photos I needed and how things went. I really appreciated his willingness to let me do the shoot by taking the time to set it up with his daughter (while he was out of town taking care of the US Ryder Cup duties).

Awesome collection. Those gold putters from his wins in 2003 are unreal.

I collect Scotty stuff as well and I can't imagine how much DL3's collection is worth. He has all the cool headcovers that are Circle T's too. I was surprised to see him with Bridgestone this year too.

There are and slowly making the connections with some of the guys. Hopefully I will be able to get more of these type photo shots.

And the rich get richer. Here is a multi-millionaire that has an impressive collection of Scotty related stuff, and people give him more??? I don't get that....all he has to do is ask Don and I am sure he can get whatever he wants to add to the collection. I am shocked he doesn't have a rack built for his collection, to display putters and covers. He can definitley take me on the golf course, but I must be better at woodworking. Thanks for the pics. I would love to see the garage shots from all these guys too. Poulter's garage......And Arnie's if he accessible. If you need someone to carry your equipment than sign me up.

Whats wrong with donating to his collection? Just because he could afford to buy it, it's not okay to give something to someone based on their income and/or status? I don't see where it matters.. Thats like saying it's wrong for someone who is struggling to buy their own gas for their car.. Whats wrong with that?

Not actually Ben Curtis' putter. Scotty Cameron has done commemorative putters of players who have used a Cameron putter (DL,III, Ben Curtis, David Duval, Sergio Garcia, Brad Faxon, Ryuji Imada are a few).
