Club Glove "the last bag" VS "Burst proof w/ wheels"

Recommended Posts

Can't decide, anyone has experience?
Have vacation coming up to Hawaii in September,
First time flying with my golf clubs.

I have been eyeing Club Glove bags.

What is the difference between "the last bag" and "burst proof"?

It looks burst proof is thinner and cheaper, does this mean "the last bag" is far better on protection?

I only will carry stand bag or carry bag, will never have staff bag.
If "the last bag" is for staff bag then I would like to have burst proof so I can carry less weight of luggage but don't want to give up on protection

so only difference is size?
that is good news, I don't want the bag to be too bulky!

great idea on stiff arm and putting woods upside down. That should help a lot with protection.

Does burst proof bag has at least one shoes storage? which is all I need.

The last bag is huge and I think you'd bust the airline weight limit fairly easily if you packed it. It probably could take the place of a suitcase also, but I'm not positive about that. Consider trunk size of your rental also.

I have the Burst Proof w/wheels and it does have two internal pockets for shoe storage. I would call it typical in size of many soft sided travel bags.

It's nice looking and well made. It has three cross straps that pulls everything tightly together for added protection. Use a stiff arm to protect the heads and pack it tightly with towels around the top for added protection in addition to the padding that's built into the top. Club Glove encourages you to pack the bag full, because the tighter the bag is packed, the better the protection. You can always put some clothing in 1 gallon plastic bags and pack it around the golf bag to help everything stay tight.

The bag is made of thick, high quality materials and seems very durable. However as it figures it would only happen to me, but on my first trip with this bag (flight home) my Club Glove was damaged (fortunately the clubs and golf bag were protected). One of the snap covers to the top handle fell off and I had some small holes that wore through the bag. My only thought is that we flew about 2 hours through continuous light-moderate turbulence and perhaps the damage was caused by continuous abrasion against another bag. None the less Club Glove was fantastic and they replaced the bag without question. The local golf shop where I purchased the bag even brought the new bag to my house!

I've used the new bag on at least one trip so far and the bag looks perfect.

I can highly recommend the Burst proof w/wheels, its a great product that's backed by a great company.

As others have noted, the only difference is size, you won't go wrong with either one.

I had the Burst Proof and then upgraded to the Lasts Bag. There is lots more room in the Last Bag.

One purchasing tip. Don't get Navy Blue or Black. Go with the brightest color you can find. When you get to the luggage carousel at Myrtle Beach or Vegas, you will see so many black travel cases your head will spin!

great, thanks everyone.

I went to Edwin Watts today and got the burst proof w/wheels along with stiff arm.

I think "the last bag" is way too big for me to handle and fly with.

Hope I will have good luck with this bag.

Don't think you can go wrong. I've had the Last Bag for close to 10 years now (travel with clubs a couple times a year) and have had no problems. It looks all scuffed now but still works as new. Enough room for pair of shoes, my stand bag and some extra space for other things to cram in like a jacket or towels. For added protection, I also use the stiff arm.

Check out the Train Reaction on clubgloves website. All bags connect together to pull as one. I have had the last bag for several years and it has been great. I will try the train reaction ensemble number 2 for my trip to Pinehurst in 3 weeks. Oh yeah the stiff arm is a must. If you want to order Discount Dans is a dealer with excellent prices.

Those train reaction bags look sweet! I may have to pick one up but man they are pricey too!

They may have changed this, but the other difference between the last bag and burst proof is the warranty.

As has been said the only practical difference is size. I was given the hard sell on a burstproof and bought one after being told that I could put a stand bag in it and still have room for extra stuff. It went on eBay before I had even used it. I replaced it with a Last Bag and have not looked back. Loads of room for a stand bag and clothes and whatever you want.

Regarding weight. If you pack a last bag until it is totally full you will get clobbered with airline charges (I work for an airline and travel a lot!). Spend 10 bucks on a digital luggage scale. That way you can pack it to the max and not pay a penny extra!

Here is a link to the one I use on Amazon UK but I'm sure you can get one in the US. Best 10 quid I have spent in a long time.

I couldnt wrap my head around this either. Maybe placing it head side down on the outside of the bag?

Yet another reason I love the R11 (and my Imix before that). I travel with my clubs a lot and its nice to be able to pop the head off and tuck it in a pocket.
I have had the burstproof for 10 1/2 years now. I travel with it 10-12 times a year with it and it has held up admirably. Unfortunately, I just noticed that the plastic holding one of the wheels has cracked and the bag will need replacing soon. I too am debating which bag to replace it with.
It's one of those cases where you should drive it till the wheels fall off! 100+ trips? I would replace it with another Club Glove in a minute!

You can use the old one to store your clubs in the off season.
