Paint Fills

Do you know anyone who does the oxide refinishing, or where could get it done? Does Goo-Gone really work on testors model paint, or does nail polish remover work better?

John those wedges are sweet lookin that is what i want to do with mine? Where did you get them done?

I recently painted my putter with acrylic paint. I painted all over the spot where I wanted it to fill in with color. I let it sit for maybe an hour. After that I discovered that if you just spray goo gone on a paper towel and try to wipe it off it won't work. What you need to do is get a slightly damp sponge and spray goo gone on it and wipe off the excess. My putter turned out great with a lime/white paintfill. No use in spending $100+ for Scotty to do it. I would recommend a 2nd coat. It seals it up better. I will post pics soon.

Yes Yes Yes, But it'll take forever to get it all off and if you are to aggressive using a harsher aggressive beads...it won't come out right and you'll loose a lot of weight.

I just tried this. It looks like my paint fill has like..air bubbles in it. How do you prevent this? maybe it didn't seem to settle into the spot well, maybe i used too much paint or something?

 

Any advice?

 

I just put a second coat on, so we'll see how it works.

Not sure why you're getting air bubbles...did you use a toothpick? If you load the end of the toothpick with paint and put it on the spot you want to fill gravity should take care of the rest and fill the area in for you.

Im getting ready to do my bag, all titleist. What is the easiest way to paint fill with testors model paint? I got these paint bottles from golfworks.com, and i want to no how to get the excess paint off. Is there any hidde secrets?

I just use a slightly damp songe and sum water...worked for me...maybe soray some Goo-Gone on the sponge 2.

If you're putting a light cover (like yellow over black) it's a good idea to take the black paint of first so you have a truer color. The paint comes off pretty easy. Just take a pin or something with a point and scratch off. I was worried it would ruin the finish of the club, but it works fine.

Yup, even the more solid colors like red or blue, it is good to take the black paint out before you apply the paint, or else the colors will not come out as bright.

Any form of paint remover should work if you just put a little on a towel and wipe down the areas you need to remove the paint from.

As long as the towel is only moist, it shouldn't take the paint out of the imprints on the club.

i treat my clubs like women...sometimes it is best to leave them untouched without all that makeup on them...lol

All you need is a SLIGHTLY damp sponge. Rub it over the excess paint. Clear nail polish will seal it in after you finish w/ the paint.

Ive never paint filled before so i think im going to go with testors model paint and what remover? also what do you reccomend I do? i think im going to fill the M in Mizuno in the lower left hand corner Red kinda like another guy did on one of the previous pages. Not sure with the spin milleds Yet.

Get yourself one of these Needlepoint Scriber and remove your existing paint if you wish (some guys just paint over the existing).

 

And some of this in the colors of your choice...

 

Scratch Fix 2in1

 

It has a pen and brush...paint & let dry. Remove excess with some acetone or your Mrs. has some fingernail polish remover it's pretty much the same thing.

I used craft paint I found in the RA office. I sealed it off with clear nail polish and wiped the excess with nail polish remover. I'll find out how long it stays.
