He looks to be getting there slowly......just needs regular match play. I can see him winning something next year. Don't see him dominating again.....too many great young players these days.

"when" he returns????....maybe never..........too bad really.....nice run though.

Yeah.....he will probably win some in the future, maybe even some majors......but never the greatness we saw in the past at least for a sustained period. I would be surprised if he wins more than 2 or 3 times in a year again. He reminds me of a lot of really good players later in their career, they still remember how to win, it just wont happen very often any more.

As Toby Keith says "I ain't as good as I once was But I'm as good once as I ever was"

Maybe he will silently slip away to secluded retirement...only to come back at 50 and win one more green jacket. By then, we all should be hitting it 400 and Augusta will be defenseless....again. I'm still shocked by how clueless TW looks sometimes with his new swing...really strange.

Well, last night sure was awful. I could hardly watch.

I am honestly shocked at how horrible he played last night. Don't know how he could hit the ball so well the first two rounds and then completely lose it the next day.

After seeing that . . . it's going to take a while for him to be "back". Maybe his mind still isn't right. He said he approached Saturday the same way he did the first two days, but maybe inside he really didn't. Maybe he got too ahead of himself and got too excited about his play the first 2 days.

I don't know what it is, but he's still got issues.

Once he can start executing the Foley stuff consistently, he will win, but he keeps having 1 or 2 bad rounds every tournament and they are what is keeping him from winning. And whether they are mental or technique related, I honestly have no clue.

Not until he gets rid of the two way miss with the driver that shows up on tough courses or under pressure.
[/quote]

Well, the course didn't get any tougher from Thursday to Saturday, except for the greens and the pin locations. So that doesn't explain why he had a dismal driving day last night. The fairways didn't get narrower, the rough didn't stick out more; he just drove the ball poorly. The reason for that? Probably the nerves and the pressure. This is a tough course, but he drove the ball great on Thursday and Friday.

Isn't this course under 7000 yards and running fast? If I'm LaCava I hand Tiger a 3 iron to tee off on every single par-4. O'Malley uses driver and bunts it 250 down the middle and scored great the first 2 rounds. If Tiger continues with that driver he is absolutely cooked.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a Tiger fan, and I really don't care for the man. Consequently, it is difficult for me to root for him.

After watching the Australian Open, I have no doubt whatsoever that Tiger is indeed back. His next victory is right around the corner.

Tiger's swing looked very nice pretty much all week. His short game looked better than it has in quite some time, and he putted very well. And he seemed relaxed, composed and focused for the most part.

I have no doubt Tiger will win multiple times in 2012. And, when he gets the first one, he could very well go on a tear. I wouldn't bet the house on five victories and a major, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did that.

I think everyone can agree that he will undoubtedly go on to win in 2012, but he won't ever dominate again. He looked good today.
