Shortest Hole Ever?

Recommended Posts

My local golf course (9 hole) has a Par 3 hole who's distance is this...

Red Tees, 80 Yards

White Tees, 113 Yards with elevated tee

Blue Tees, 126 Yards with elevated tee

Black Tees, 135 Yards

This short and sweet par three has produced more aces than any other hole on the course.

Forget the sand and water, and knock it in the hole. -Hole Description

Has anyone played a Par 3 that's shorter than this?

Yes - I've played a course where it's 120 from the blacks, 112 blues, 104 whites, and 79 red.

Not only that, it's the FINISHING hole and is one of the worst holes I've ever played.

There's another course that has a par three that I play that's 125 from the tips, downhill, but it's got a great view and the green is a bear.

I've played a hole less then 100 yards with about a 100ft drop. For me, it was a 52* wedge to the back corner. You had to walk to the front of the tee, look straight down for the green and the flagstick, mark a mountain in the distance for your line, turn around, walk back to the tee markers and then hit into open air with really nothing to aim at. No way you can see the green or flagstick from the tee markers. Emerald Canyon - near Parker, AZ

I also played one in Payson, AZ where you can't see the green at all. It's so far down that the flagstick is about 15ft long so you can see the top of it and where the hole is. Super short hole and was a gap wedge to the green. The tee shot was not only short and downhill but the trees in front of the tee box were above the tees. You had to hit up and over the trees to the green.

doesn't Number 7 at Pebble Beach play under 100 yards on occasion? I remember at least one round in the US Open that it played less than 100.

The shortest par 3 at my course plays 150 and looks similar to the pic the OP posted.

Number 9 at Caledonia golf and fish club near Myrtle beach is 118 yards from the tips! This is one of the top rated courses in the area.

I've seen two aces on that hole at Emerald Canyon. Hardest easy hole ever though.

I actually like the next hole, too. You tee off between the 2 cliffs on either side. My wife plugged her tee shot in the cliff on the right side. It was high enough we just left it there, sticking out of the rock wall !! Some crazy holes on that course. It's fun to play.

90 yards from the tips...its almost like they were trying to squeeze the hole into a far corner of the course. Terrible hole, too. Green slopes fairly hard back to front, being long is dead. You flip a little 56* or 60* in there and it just spins off the front in the sand. I know some guys play range balls on the hole for less spin and another strategy I know that is used is purposely hit a PW or 9i fat and just chunk it onto the green with no spin. Such a terrible hole

Once in a while I play at this course where its 100 yards to the pin. The tee is at a lower level and the green is on a hill top with a fifty foot drop with a stream at the bottom. Unless your on the green you roll back down the hill or on the other sides rolls into the woods. Is a hard par three and staying on the green is a must!!!!!

could you play like a dead hands gap wedge or something? There's a par 4 on my course where i always end up with about 100 in and it's a very tricky green. I always play a gap, or even a long chip type shop with a PW, on that hole you'd probably need to flight it higher though because of the bunkers

There's a course I frequent called Pinecrest here in Houston that is 117 from the tips and 105 from the second tee - generally a full sand wedge or 3/4 PW.

Played a course in Taiwan with a hole like that only the drop is .... dunno .... about 600 feet easily. You take a mountain lift down after the shot, you never see the green until you come down.

Funny that the modern golfer is so perplexed by a 90 yard shot.

The only fault I find with this hole is the ugly cart path and fence.
