Longest drive ever

Since this is the so called "Long Drivers Lab" lets hear it. What's ur longest drive ever, legitimate, flat ground and no helping wind and no cart path and not cutting the corner and saying you hit it that far cause its on the green.

 

I'll start 395

not nearly that long, 270 after the roll on flat ground. I'm usually in the 240 range.

on a average day with 100mph head speed i would carry around 230 and roll it around 240ish.. need to get my launch degree and spin sorted out...

Here in AZ....I can get 290 carry....roll to 320.....but some times I can hit like poop and only go to 300.....carrying 280-270....but I have played with my guys whos thats their hybrid or wood lol

380 in a chapter pro am here in Spokane. I triple checked the yardage to make sure it was correct

If coach woulda put me in we woulda won state, I'da been in the pros.

For those of you claiming to have hit the ball >330 without elevation, wind or downhill help. What are you claiming as your clubhead speed, etc.? Or are you doing the old Tin Cup where David Simms watches Roy hit the 7 iron 227 and then hits it down the road to win the bet?

I swing hard (125-130) when I am trying to hit a long drive contest like drive and I've never hit one further than 340 without some type of aide. Now with a tailwind on a dowhill hole when its dry in the summer, there have been good ones that rolled out to 390 or so.

I know 125-130 is not ridiculous clubhead speed but its also not slow. I'm failry confident none of you posting are Jamie Sadlowski....

285 yds ... swinging out of my shoes Bubba Watson style, like front foot in the air with the follow through and all, and actually hit it in the center.

Usually I carry it 230 or so plus whatever roll out I get depending on conditions.

389 in Remax Long Drive Regional. Decatur, IL. 2011. no wind, flat ground. not going to count any windy days on downhill slopes in late summer.

351 with a Crank Golf driver in FL on a Crank sponsored charity hole at Binks Forest in Wellington FL. Only got two swings.

360 (est) with my 44" G20 in Colorado. The hole was 420. Laser said I was 60 yards out on my second shot.

343 in LD event in southern VA around April of 2009. 45" 8* Launcher 400 with a NV 65 S - 350. 20 - 25 mph headwind, tied for second. First was over the grid, 375 + down the middle.

SS then was 129 avg, 136 max. Low round was maybe 92 or 91. 20 HC

Now I struggle to get to past 110 but have a 8 HC now. In the 70's is way better than a 350 ball.

380 with a LD club, prob about 320 on the course. I think most of my best drives were with some sort of outside influence. Tee it high and let it fly downwind!

I can't help myself. I have a really hard time slowing my swing down and staying consistent. Any tips?

What's helped me is to loosen my grip, and weaken my grip.

Really relax my right side on my takeaway. Make sure I still do a complete shoulder turn (left shoulder under chin).

Another thing Im working on is getting my hips to start forward a hair before my back swing is finished.

If my timing is still off I focus on holding my wrists back a little longer to prevent releasing the club to early.

My relaxed swing is around 105 and Im happy with that.

Curious how others have gotten their timing correct too.

I started to copy AK's swing and found I liked the shorter backswing. It is easier on the back, hips, knees and wrists.

I really only move my hands 6 inches past my right thigh (right handed) in a one piece move, then make a full turn back.

As I start my downswing I think loose hands, wrists and arms. I try to get my hands back to the 6" past right thigh position with some wrist c0ck still to 6" past my left thigh.... FULL EXTENSION.

Practice more less than full shots. I only take full swings on the tee with driver (sometimes) and 3w from fairway and light rough.

I had the same issue and used to just play to a full shot at 120 to 150, but all low players spend more time on a 100 and in.

P.S. pure shot draw now ..... I'm a fader, just have to get use to it.
