Hello GolfWRX.

 

Last week, rather unexpectingly, my niece/goddaughter Natalie was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2. My brother and his wife are obviously completed devasted and I am doing everything I can as a big brother, an uncle, and a godfather to help anyway I possibly can.

 

Natalie started chemo this afternoon and has a long battle ahead of her at Hasboro Children's Hospital here in Providence RI. However, she has very strong family that is going to be by her side side the entire way.

 

Having been on this site for as long as I have, I know the great power and unbelievable generosity that this forum has displayed in the past. I have done over 70 deals here on WRX so I know personally that there are some truley awesome people on WRX.

 

I have never been one to do anything like this before. However, my brother, who is a former US MARINE, not only has a long emotional road ahead of him, but a financial one as well - as many of you may have experienced before in the past if you've had a family member with cancer.

 

If you could find it in your heart to take a look at the page, I appreciate it so much. If you can help my brother anyway possible, even if its a $1 donation, it would go a long way to help a beautiful little girl who does not desrve the hand that she's been dealt.

 

If you can help out at all, please post that you are from WRX if possible.

wow gunner. i'm sorry for what you and your family is going through. i have a niece who just turned 1 and couldn't imagine seeing her go through anything like that. cancer does suck, it shouldn't be this way but praying for the best for her. god speed

It's heartbreaking to see a child with cancer, of any kind. That's when we know for sure that life is not fair and cancer does not discriminate. May all your prayers be answered and this precious little girl is healed, sooner rather than later.

Sorry to hear this bad news.

My brothers son was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was 6. It's an unbelievable shock when this happens, and understably your brother and family will be in a steady state of shock for the next while.

On a brighter note though, my nephew just turned 11 this past week and has been cancer free for 2 - 3 years now. If your niece has Childhood Leukemia, know that there is a very good success rate of being cured these days.

I really really hope she pulls through, hate seeing kids go through this. Also know that if she has any other siblings, they will be effected by this and if you could take them for summer holidays etc. that would help your brother out a lot.

It doesn't accept PayPal..that I saw. It Looks like it's through a site called GoFundMe, it is listed as safe and secure site by my Norton AV, so I proceeded through there.

Yeah, I understand and generally prefer that way. This one was OK, as I didn't have to sign up for anything, it just said it was processed by that site. I also used a seldom used CC that has a fairly low credit limit, just in case

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. My wife has been fighting Cancer since 2010 and her dad just passed away of Cancer a month ago. I have spent entirely too much time in Hospitals the last few years. That said, I can't imagine one of my kids going through this. Keep strong and positive, your family will be tested in the upcoming months and years. Reach out to others often as the world and people will amaze you with there generosity of prayers, time and money. My family couldn't have gotten through it without some incredible friends, family and strangers..

This hits way to close to home. Both my parents have beaten two different forms of cancer. I have a 3 year old niece, a one year old niece, and a 2 year old daughter. This sucks royally. People who smoke and have lived their lives in a precarious way deserve it (and yes I smoke) but little precious girls do not deserve this.

I had a whopping $40 in Paypal and gifted it over. It's a start.

If anyone wants anything in my latest BST thread, I will give all of it to him. If you want to Paypal him and have him PM me with your address I will ship it to you. I will also add some other stuff as well to his fund.

This is my last BST thread which I am closing and opening a new one with some items that will go 100% to this cause.
