MIZUNO MP-4 and MP-54 Reveal

I was an early adopter of the short-lived Titleist ZMs, and am probably one of the few folks still playing them... But their days are numbered with these MP-4s!

Cannot wait to get a set built of both the MP 4 and 54 and decide if I go combo or like one set better than the other. Beautiful irons. Stuck though to order the 714 MB as well as they look amazing and the 710 and 712 MB are beautiful. For sure Mizuno is getting money for 2 sets from me and maybe a custom set once I figure what I like for the setup. Those Flat Black Raw or Twilight finishes really have me intrigued.....I would like to find out with them which finish has a softer/harder feel to it like a vokey wedge has a softer feel in order oil can/ tour chrome/ black nickel being the hardest. Not only do I know and feel that from experience but Titleist has made this very clear to me many times so i would want the best feel for softness with the best look i could get!

I don't know for sure - but I highly supect there will be more stuff to come out soon. Wedges, maybe an mp wood line and others have stated that there's a forged JPX SGI in the works..

From what I've read and reading between the lines I'm gonna take a punt at what's going to appear...

MP B4 - New blade design featuring a sleek diamond (ish) muscle - similar to themp 64s - these have to be good
MP C4- Undercut cavity / combo similar to mp52/53 but with mp64 esque styling - expect these to be big sellers
JPX 825X - Forged SGI design - they aleady have this in Japan and due an update

I posted this before the pics came out, a couple of weeks ago - not too far off I reckon (ok I got the names wrong and I don't think the 59s are staying). The new putters (for Europe) was a bonus.

The wait continues for the other stuff. (wedges and woods)

Question: I haven't bought irons in about 8 years, and back then I just got them OTR. I'm looking to get a new set soon and want to consider the new Mizzy's in a combo set, Nike Pro Combos, and new AP2s. BUT, I want to try these babies out before buying. Can I just go to a PGA Tour Superstore and ask to try them whenever they start taking orders? Will they have demo versions then or earlier?

When can I try these things out?!

Mp54 are long overdue

there are nearly 0 sets at dunns in santa ana over last 2 yrs meaning they aint coming back to store...

got popular little later on but oh what an outcry when no replacement came last year. ..

think because of response thry added it...and h4 demise

I agree the H4 is a disaster!

They should keep the 2-4 options avail for custom orders.

I will be gaming my 53s until the second the 54s come out

Yeah really nice vid. It's what I like about Mizuno marketing. Understated, stylish, designers explaining what it's about, benefits as well as limitations. The emphasis is all about the craftsmanship and quality, feel and sound. Nobody mentioned distance once.

I'm so tired of TM and such marketing how much further an iron will go. Players that would use an MP-4 would presumably know better that distance is not the concern.
