Golf Pants in odd sizes

I just can not believe that the mfg/producers of pants in general do not serve the guys that need odd sizes. I guesss they consider us misfits. I can not find anyone but Nike that makes a size 35 waist. I can not find any mfg that sells a 29 length. I am an average sized person at 5'10" and must have shorter legs than most people. I do not want my pants to touch the ground and 30 L will do that. I think the mfg/producers of golf pants and pants in general are mssing out on a segment of the market. I know what they will say, no demand for that size, but I bet there is a demand for these odd sizes and no mfg is meeting this demand. Any thoughts? Please elaborate because these producers of pants are losing sales to guys like me.

Yeah, it is rare for companies to produce size 29 in length. I work in golf retail and I can't think of any cases where I have seen anything in a 29.

You really should talk to a tailor. Knocking an inch off an inseam won't cost you much at all.

I'm sure the sales lost on a guy like you are far outpaced by the savings in having to produce only half as many sizes. Unitl then, I suggest you buy the larger sizes and see a tailor.

Yes I could see a tailor but it sure is a hassle. Just wanted to see if many others suffer from the shorter than 30 inseam length and of course the odd number in the waist. Just surprising that Nike is the only golf appareal mfg that would bother with waist sizes of 33 and 35. Everyone else is stuck on the even numbers. I would think that just as many people wear a size 35 waist as folks that wear a 36 waist and so forth down the line. I am sure that lots of folks that wear a 30 inseam, should be in a 29 inseam that is why I see so many folks with wet pants at the bottom after playing on wet grass. That would bother me when playing a round.

Just go to menswear stores near you and ask if they do alterations. There's a place near me that will hem your pants for $7, it's no more of a hassle than going to the dry cleaners.

I wouldn't consider that average size (at least not where I live). It wouldn't be profitable for them to produce odd sizes like that.

Kind of what I am talking about. What is average size? It could be that average size is a 35 waist and a 30 length or even 29 length. I believe that the mfgs of pants do not realize that a sub market may exist for odd sizes like a 35x29. It may beheave a mfg to produce sizes such as these to gain more sales. It would not take alot of tinkering. They produce these things at around $10.00 and sell them retail for $80.00. Why not provide more sizes for a market that would bear them? Just some out loud thinking going on...I know I am not buying something that does not fit me and I know there are other folks out there in this vacuum area of odd sizing. Come on man(to the mfg of golf pants)....

My complaint is slightly different than yours. Why do mfg/co think just because you are a big 42 waist you must have short legs. I always find 29 or 30 inseams and if I'm lucky 32. I need a 34 inseam and is almost impossible to find off the rack. I see pants with 34 inseams up to a 38 waist then it seems the average length is 29.

Hagar cool 18 has odd lengths. They are a little thicker material than nike, ua, footjoy etc etc...but they do have odd length and waist size combo

I am also a bit of an odd size for many of my clothing options. I have had all of my golf pants tailored and I find it to be a bit of a joy. Afterall, I am getting an off the rack pair of pants that have been custom sized for me.

Try Lands End, they sell all waist sizes and will tailor inseams in half inch increments.

All or most of their pants come with a 34" inseam and i believe they do free hemming for the Dry Stretch and Dry Flat Fronts.

I have the worst luck trying to find pants from other manufacturers that I know sell 33"x34" or 34"x34" sizes. Based off of this thread and some of the others I've seen, I'm beginning to think the reason isn't that they don't make enough of them but all you short legged guys buy the long ones and get them tailored to fit

It's not just golf pants, it's all men's pants. 35 waist is not easy to find in stores. There's a lot of difference in fit between 34 and 36!!

Most cleaners, especially Asian owned, will do length alterations fast and cheap.

I agree, I cannot find any golf pants size W31”xL29”. Further, if I buy   W32”xL30” it costs another 30 dollars to have them tailored! Not good customer service!

Wow! This thread is almost 10 years old but in those 10 years, I still need a 35 inch waist and a 29 inch inseam. Its been a little easier to find this size in the past years as opposed to 10 years ago. Thanks for revisiting this thread!

Here is my suggestion.

 

Get the Redvanly pull on pants in size L if you have a 35 inch waist.  The waistband is extremely flexible and will accommodate 35 easily. I'm a 34 in waist and have size L in these and they are great.  

 

For the length they offer 30.  However, when you order 30 length they tailor the 32 pants they have to get 30.  I assume you could ask them to make it 29 just as easy. Their customer service is really helpful and good to work with. 

 

Lastly, their pants and shorts are some of the most comfortable and stretchy as anything I've ever had and I've bought pretty much any brand there is over the years.

TravisMathew makes pants and shorts in a 35 waist.

I have a pair of these in the regular fit.  They are very nice pants for the money put they are not strechy or thin.  They are like a chino pants. Ok for golf but more like a basic casual dress pant.
