How shallow is the face on that short wood compared to the hybrid? Looks awesome.

The face is pretty deep actually the sole plate is ridiculously thick which is why the cog is so low. I'll get a better face pic up. In the meantime this was my first shot w the short wood after rebagging it. 194y par 3.

Nice looking club. I like the carbon spots. Do you know much about the club, such as when it was made and what sort of loft it had? Does it take an old 0.294" taper tip shaft, or .335" parallel?

It is actually an old head that was from the Hickory Stick series. So it would have had one of the Callaway hickory stick shafts originally. It is 335 parallel. I am not 100% sure what year I'm trying to figure that out. I got it brand new head only about 15y ago on ebay. It's shafted now w a Nippon 950.

Thanks. I didn't know Callaway made hickory-shafted clubs.

They aren't real hickories they have a steel core and a hickory layer outside of the steel. They are 335 tip rather than hickory bore. Believe it or not that's how Callaway got their start was with their Hickory Stick clubs. Way before Big Bertha.

Was that when they bought out those Bobby Jones blades? Basically a Scotch Blade with a really short hosel.

I have a pretty good idea which set is going to Scotland and which set is staying in the states iron and wedge wise. The question really is fairway woods. I think I'll take my driver head back and forth and have a shaft each place. But what to do w fwy woods/hybrids/long irons.........

I'm going to be living in Campbeltown and going back to the states a week every month or so. I've been holidaying over there with my wife and kids for a couple years and we all love it over there. Most of my work is on the computer so I can be anywhere. My wife and kids started to push hard to move over to Campbeltown so thats what we're doing! I'm opening a branch office of NCW and will be available periodically for fittings. I'd love to meet up with some Scottish GCAers for golf and pints.....

The KC103 20* and KP99 3 wood will be coming with me to Scotland. The KC103 will end up in the bag again it always does haha. Could end up in the 4i spot if I want a little more distance out of it.

Well back to my HOing ways.

Bought another club to try for the 3 wood slot. PING Anser 4 wood wood set to - setting w Oban Purple Kyoshi 75 S.

Its a battle between that and the PXG atm.

Epic bonded hosel is out. Srixon seems to want to go left.

Also got A Tour Rogue Sub Zero V Deepface dual weight driver coming to try. Looking for that little less spin for Scotland.

    For now

So maybe the best purchase I've made all year has been one of these:

I've had it in play for about 5 rounds now and it's really impressive. It works as advertised, grab the handle and walk naturally and it adapts its speed to the speed you are going. If you hold onto it and steer its very effortless to use and it's easy to let it go and walk beside it as long as the terrain isn't too severe. I love to walk but have back issues so I think this thing is going to be really great for me long term. My back already feels better than carrying. Really a shame my club back in the states would never let me use one.

Got the Rogue Sub Zero V Tour. Things a rocket. Definitely in the bag for a trail period. The shape is amazing. It's 460 but looks alot smaller which I love.

Unfortunately the USA bag is in hibernation until Spring.

Also messing with 4 iron and then 6-P instead of 5-P. The lower flight of the 4i is great for the wind over here and if I need to manufacture a shot for that exact 5i distance I can do it with either the 4i or the hybrid depending on shot needed
