Golf Grip Core Size - .58 vs .60 vs .62

I’m in the market for new golf pride tour velvet’s and noticed all three core size options on their web site. Can anyone describe in layman’s terms the differences of all three options?

.58 has more rubber, .62 has less

Assuming on a .600 Shaft Butt, .58 will play 1 “wrap” bigger than .60

Same with .62

Very minimal though

Generally, if given an option, the idea is to pick the core size that matches the butt diameter of your shafts to get the 'designed' grip size as the end result. Now picking a core size that does not match your butt is also one way of tweaking the end size. e.g. putting a 0.58" core grip on a 0.600" shaft butt will end up giving you a slightly oversized grip. Similar to putting a couple extra wraps of build up tape under the grip.

Or if you know you like your grip just a hair “oversized”, like I do, deliberately buy a .580 to go on a .600 or .610 butt.

Most butt diameters are .600 on irons and .610 on woods now. I purposely buy .580 grips and use just one extra wrap of tape on irons and no extra wraps on woods.

So I like the feel of a .580 grip with two wraps on a .600 shaft. Feels a little spongy as opposed to .600 grip with 3 or 4 wraps.
