Your body creates creatine on its on, buying the supplement only makes more.

Which has little bearing on if it's 'legal' or not.

Your body makes testosterone, but it's a prohibited substance.

But, creatine hasn't been on any of the major lists that I know of. The WADA doesn't have it on their list, and they are the standard that most sports look to, including the PGA from what I've read.

Not banned by WADA (World Anti-Doping Association)

However like any supplement (classified as food) label laws are not as strict and it is very possible to have contamination by banned substances in the product.

It isn't on any banned list as it occurs naturally in your system and is in many foods. It would be too difficult to find a cut off point.

That said, most NFL teams ban it from dressing rooms as it is considered to cause cramps and dehydration during hard training.

exactly right. body makes it and it is in many food. no way to tell if a player eats a million steaks or just takes creatine supplements

However they do use cutoff points. If you exceed that point, they don't care how you broke the limit....just that you did.

This is already done with caffine, testosterone, HGH, red blood cell concentration, etc.

E.g. Wake ups are banned.....but so is taking in 8 cups of coffee. They don't care how the caffine got into your body....they just look at the limit and say you broke it.

Keep in mind, they limits they set are exceedingly high for normal body production, so nobody will test positive because their natural body level is higher than most.

If you break the limit, it's 100% because you taken something.

Re: testing over a limit

If I remember correctly from my bodybuilding days, creatine is very, very water soluble and your body retains very little.

Unlike steroids which stays in your system for a decent period, today's dose of creatine is gone tomorrow. The max your body could retain is prolly about what you would get in a couple of steaks.

Therefore, you wouldn't test for something so easily flushed.

I'm guessing the booze question was a joke....

But if it's a legit question.

bump.

anyone taking Creatine and notice any gains on the course?

So the people in this study gained an average of 13 yards total distance by simply adding taking this supplement in specified amounts over the course of a month? Seems like a lot of distance considering the club speed and ball speed didn't really change.

I wonder what month this study was done? Could temperature and fairway firmness account for the distance changes? (I don't know much about trackman so I could be talking out my arse)

Seems odd to not have driver speed increase significantly in the study yet gain 13+ yards on average. Maybe the creatine and caffeine improves the strike quality because of more muscle and concentration levels??

Creatine might help with fatigue but I can't see any advantage in taking it specifically for golf. I take it almost year round for body building. If you're not lifting or training intensely you're wasting your money. You'll just be stopping to drain the lizard a couple times a round lol.

100% agree. Creatine is only useful if you are doing a lot of lifting. Even then, I have seen some studies that say the benefit is negligible but other say there is a definite benefit. I took it for a while but didn't notice a difference and was sick of the semi bloated feeling I always had from retaining the water.

im gonna take it and see after 1 month..... I just got some trackman number so I can compare those to new data in a month.

It costs like 10 dollars for a 4 month supply. Has a plethora of other benefits besides lifting related. Actually increases hydration, contrary to popular knowledge. Some studies show it preventing heat stroke in high school football players. Is being utilized in studies at prevent neuro degenerative diseases. Literally everyone on planet with normal renal function should take.

been working out extensively since October after takin a few years off - i took creatine for a little bit (not in any 'excessive' amounts) and found that while i haven't gained a lot with regards to swing speed (i have, but not much - maybe 2-3 mph), i HAVE gained consistency or efficiency. it is much easier for me to give it 'more gas' when i need to later in the round than i have in the past, and typically on 'normal' swings have what i would consider easier distance if that makes sense.

i can honestly say that i believe creatine is a visible enhancer and not so much a strength enhancer - i did not see huge jumps in maxes or overall load while taking it - just VISIBLE differences ie creatine bloat, or the appearance of bigger muscles than they were. once i stopped or reduced the amount i took, those visible differences started going away and i was considerably more 'cut'.

i think it has nothing to do with actual performance. less you want to look like koepka with the strength of billy hurley.
