Renting a house to a PGA Tour Pro?

How would I go about renting a house to a PGA Tour Pro? The 2015 US Open is fairly close to my home and I would love to have someone stay in one of the cabins near my home. Any advice/help is appreciated.

I would call the pga tour and get their opinion on it.

Good question. My uncle lives near Southern Hills and rented his home to Tom Kite for either the 77 US Open or 82 PGA. At the time he was working at Bucks Sporting goods and I seem to remember that being how he got connected.

I was wondering the same thing for an event by me. someone has to know something.

The USGA usually has a housing chairperson that you would be able to get in touch with, and I'm sure for the 2015 Open that person is already working on it. Generally, competitors are given a listing of homes available for rental and a lot of the reasonably priced or really nice homes go early. Corporations, media, TV, etc. are likely to be looking to rent homes near Open venues as well. Your best best is to contact the USGA and go from there. The PGA doesn't have anything to do with accommodations for the US Open. Good luck!

How close is "fairly close"? They're not going to want to travel 30+ minutes and deal with traffic.

I'd say. Don't rent to TW if you live near the pancake house.

My thought was that since he is trying to hook up a PGA pro he might as well call the PGA for info.

Another route would be to track down a few of the players managers and try to get in touch with them. Who did Adam Scott just sign up with? Mark Steinberg's Excel Sports. Contact them.

With all due respect, it would be doubtful that any of the agents would get back to you regarding house rental for the Open, and the PGA Tour has nothing to do with Open accommodations. Some of the agencies book for their players, but a lot of the players book rooms either at the host hotel or they book houses independently through the USGA housing liaison.

Your best bet is to get in touch with the USGA on this matter. Trust me.

I thought she might have worked at Perkins....there was an interview with her....it didn't look like a Perkins....oh well.
I do like the Waffle House.....went several times in Lexington after bar hopping.

I really do like the greasy spoon joints in the US....in Canada...we don't have as many dumps....sigh.

Yes....I believe they likely have a couple of F/T USGA personnel based out of Chambers Bay nowadays....I'd drive over and start the conversation in person.

- Plenty of putters to try if the tour vans are gone after wednesday again for to try before bed
- Indoor putting green in 3rd bedroom to practice on before bed
- Will trade home rental for anything that says circle T or has TXXXXX, TC serial, or XXXTXXXX serial #'s I just want a tour player sleeping on my single bed

^^^ This. OP, contact the USGA. They are the ones who work on arranging accommodations for their events.

My parents rented their house in 1993 and 2003 when The Open was held in RSG. They got paid a fortune for it! My father was (and still is) a member at RSG, and I believe they put him in touch with the R&A.

I know someone that rented his house out to a PGA player at Atlanta Athletic Club. He said he would never do it again lol. Not sure exactly what went wrong.
