VERY VERY VERY good friend of mine - a Texas A&M grad ... and he said "For Christ Sake - Can ESPN PLEASE !!!! stop playing the replay of last years Bama game ... We don't need them to be THAT motivated when they come here this year. That's all we need is Sabin dwelling on this for last year and now rubbing it in with the replay"

This picture is hilarious.

I grew up with football and have always been a fan, however, lately the sport is becoming ridiculous as far as $. Last year, I wanted to bring my son on our yearly outing to watch Big Blue visit the Beagles. I looked everywhere, and the cheapest tickets I could find were $300 for SRO. Excuse me?!?! And the year before I remember something around $200 for nosebleed seats (we ended up standing on one of the ramps for a better view).

And I'm getting disenchanted with the other aspects of football as well - the media, the culture, etc. Every year I find myself less interested...

How do you think they pay for the rediculous coaching salaries along with the new stadiums? (And if you don't have a new stadium, you will soon enough!)

I'm pumped for this year. Hoping it could be the year for one of if not both of my teams. I'm worried about the same unit on both teams, the defense.

My Dawgs are renewing our rivalry with the Clemson Kitties this season and I'm stoked, but its a stern test week 1, especially missing one of our better secondary players. Offense should be fine, defense has the potential to e better than last year's even though we lost 9 to the NFL. As a unit there's more potential, IMO.

As for the Birds, our O will be perfectly fine. I'm worried about up front on our D. You can't replace Abe with Osi, IMO. Osi has never been the man. I'm hopeful we bring in Richard Seymour before the season starts. That's improve the defensive front, which we have to improve. Our Achilles heel is no pressure up front. Our RT situation took a hit with an injury a few weeks ago and past Lamar Holmes (the now starter) we have no depth. Corner has a lot of inexperience, but should be okay. I'm pleasantly surprised with our young LB play in the preseason this far. Should be a strong unit.

Just like every year, I'm hoping to see a breaking news of Saban getting laid out on a sideline play and breaking every bone in his body....... Someday. Nothing against Alabama though, just think he's a terrible person.

Go Lions!!!!! Maybe 5-11? And my Spartans, no OSU and no Wisconsin on the schedule this year. Kind of sad, but it gives us a good shot to be over 500, maybe 7-5 or 8-4 going into the bowl game.

Fellow Dawg fan and my hopes and concerns are similar to yours and our schedule. Clemson (#8), S. Car (#7)and LSU (#13) in first 4 games has to be the toughest opening in college ball this year. We could be very good or not in it at all after the first month. But tend to think the offense will overcome d problems early on, well see pretty quick. GO DAWGS SIC EM WOOF WOOF WOOF!

Well .. I was raised a Cowboy fan ... I was a military brat and roamed between air force bases from Roswell to Texas for years. My dad LITERALLY bleeds blue/silver .. and always will

Before Dallas - I was in Tampa ... so while I always liked college football - I have always been in NFL towns. Dallas is so Cowboy - that college doesn't get the same coverage

Then I moved to SEC-central. I am actually very conflicted - My wife is SUPER DIE-HARD LSU !!!! ... but ....

The best man in my wedding - and my BFF here locally is from Alabama / Bleeds crimson red / lives Bama / loves Bama / i bet he has hounds tooth underwear / hes ALL IN !!!!!!! ... in a good way .. and doesn't hide it

PLUS ... To me ... He is one of those 2-3 friends that you get in your entire lifetime - that if it all went bad .. if I pulled the OH-SH!T handle and said HELP!!! - from ANYWHERE / ANYTIME on earth .... He's on the way without asking a word .. NO HESITATION. and bcuz of that .. I route for Bama & hope LSU does OK too

Cool story and Bama has been the best program in college ball the last few years in the best conference no doubt about that. Well see this year they are obviously favored again.

Ah, football is not here. Football practice is. You know, NFL practice pre-season games. College intrasquad games. It's practice. I can't get excited until the real thing comes along (to quote the song).
