A 1-2-3 finish would be good for marketing purposes. I hope Rory runs away with it tomorrow.

That would be nice, plus I think the European tour has a chance at 1-2 finish.

How about a 1-2-3-4 when Tiger shoots a 61? Marketing dream.

With regards to the ball, if you remember back to the Tiger/Rory duel in China late last year they had just put it in play to test them and were both commenting on the distances they were hitting them. Both players hitting it way over the flag plenty of times. I think the combo of the new driver and the ball is something big this year.

If you mean Ross Fisher and Simon Dyson you'd only be half right. Dyson appears to be 'sponsor-less'. Ross Fisher does have a 5 shot lead though, damn those balls ARE good...

That's weird. I thought Dyson was still a Nike staffer two weeks ago at a tourney.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Take a look at the USGA list of conforming balls. Most all the premium balls have multiple versions on the list. For example, there are 7 versions of the current Pro V1X with the gray arrows and I think there was something over 20 versions of the 4 or 5 different Nike RZN balls.

12 versions of the platinum and black. That being said that doesn't mean they are all in play or they are all that different. Usually nike has 4 or 5 different types of balls going around. The two normal versions and then two or three dot versions that have alternate covers or cores. Right now a lot of players are apparently playing the dot black which has the core of the black but the outside layers are more similar to the platinum. This is coming from the discussion on the balls in the tour and pre release section.

It was more the fling in the driving range shack with the beverage cart gal and he laid down awkward and a Nike range ball....err.... nevermind.

I had a chance to play 18 this past weekend with the RZN Black.....I wasn't totally impressed....I think it's an ok ball...I honestly think the previous 20Xi feels better...that's just me...everyone will have they're own reviews. As of now, I'll keep them in play but if I come away empty feeling about them this weekend then I will retire them. Feels ok off the driver face....irons feel great...and wedges feel ok...spin is there.

I'd be interested to hear who is playing the ball on Tour that does not have a clubs equipment contract with Nike. I think that says a lot about a golf ball.
[/quote]

Every person on tour has some type of ball deal. The reason Titleist has the most balls on tour is because they pay the most. They basically get everyone whose company doesn't have a ball deal. Same reason why most players who have iron only deals play TM woods. When I played high level amateur events you saw about half Titleist and then a mix of everything else.

I played another round with them and had better results. They just redid the greens at my home course and they are STUPID HARD and fast so I would have to land it short and roll it back to the pin....well this past weekend I was sticking it Pin high. Also had some really nice drives. Off the face of the driver it feels "heavy" I guess you could say...iron shots feel great and from 100 and in is where I'm starting to really like the ball. I'm going to compare it to the new ProV1X and B330 this weekend on both days and see how they hold up.
