I had thought maybe I'd let them go, but since the stats are so close to the mizunos, I think they're going to be my cold season and travel set. They're so smooth, I can't see myself getting rid of them for a few more years.

I didn't think about it that much at the time. I did look at the Fly-Z Pro irons on the wall and Ryan kinda looked at me and told me I could try them, but while they feel perfect on center hits, I'd probably want something more forgiving. Now looking back, looks like Nike and Cobra were left out of it, which is too bad because I love my current irons. I told the guys I could've stayed all weekend and hit balls on the trackman forever. I would've gone through every manufacturer.

To be honest though, to fully pick an iron in less than 2 hours and then spend 2 hours on Driver/Wood/Hybrid and shafts, wedges, my head was spinning so much trying to figure out what I was hitting that I just stopped looking.
Ryan handed me clubs, I swung a bunch, and we either gave it a big thumbs up or a thumbs down. By an hour into day 2, I was literally just saying, "So what am I hitting now? I like it..."

Cool write-up. Ryan is a nice guy, he did my SAM lab putter fitting last year. He seemed genuinely interested in helping me make the right decision on a new putter.

And yes, we metro-Detroiters are very lucky to have Carl's!

It would have been nice to test the fly z+ irons to your amp forged. Golf Smith won't even stock them. Oh well. It is overwhelming to test that much equipment in that time frame like you said. Would like to have seen a fly z or Flyz+ driver in the mix for numbers and your feels but hey I'm a cobra fan. Enjoy!

I thought their prices were pretty solid considering what you get. OP, if we're ever in the same vicinity, we need to hang out. We seem very, very much alike, have similar games it sounds like and bonus, have similar tastes in beers. Love the Sam Adams Octoberfest!
