TP5X practice balls on golfdiscount

Recommended Posts

I picked up the same practice balls at my local Edwin Watts and I'm confident they are all part of the same lot TM sent out to their vendors. There were a few that had some really bad paint, which is why they are being sold as practice balls to begin with. I honestly don't care about little specs of bad paint or even a small nick or two, but this was big enough for me to put them in my shag bag for short game practice.

To describe what mine looked like, imagine painting a golf ball and then immediately rubbing it against a sheet of paper.

A majority of them looked perfect. Just like the retail balls. Just be aware that they could have significant blemishes, as advertised, that would likely prevent you from putting them in play

How much were they at Edwin Watts?

Anybody play these practice TP5X and TP5 yet? I just got mine today. How are your rounds looking with the practice ones vs retail?

I've played a few rounds with my "practice" balls. I just took a black sharpie and drew a thick line over it. They've played just like TP5s from a pack for me. I've loaded up on the Nike RZN Tour practice balls before, and those worked well for me too. The only difference is an extra word stamped on the cover.

Awesome! You really cannot beat that deal either. You are saving $2.50 a ball over full priced retail TP5 and TP5X. Doesn’t DJ have enough toys? Haha

Thanks GolfWRX, that's now two golf related purchases this week that I didn't necessarily need to make but the price was right.

I grabbed two dozen of the TP5x because even with the shipping it's cheaper than I can get my usual balls, the Vice Pro+. In the past I have played both ProV1 and TaylorMade TP Penta "PRACTICE" stamped balls before. As others have said, they are the same ball just stamped with PRACTICE like you would find on driving ranges of nice private/resort courses.

I scored two Mizuno T7 wedges earlier in the week for less than $72/ea shipped.

It’s ok, they will still send them to you with a valid credit card , PayPal, diners club, Russia Oligarchy Express, Offshore Master or AAA AARP Cards.

Haha. I found a TP5X today and really liked it for 3 holes before pushing it into the drink!

FYI - Rock Bottom Golf has TP5 Practice balls on sale for $18.00 no tax Ammo box. No limit on how many you can purchase like discount golf has a 2 minimum limit. Also, free shipping on orders of $125. Hard to do better than this deal!!!!!!!!!!!.

Great recommendation. I’ve been looking for inexpensive TP5x’s and I’d rather play new practice balls than refurbished regulars.

Any idea if this price on RBG is normal? I’m well stocked right now but I’ll justify spending the money to stock up more if this is uncommon.

I periodically check RBG for deals on golf balls. Last checked normal price was TP5/TP5X "Practice balls" were 22.99 for 6dz. and 24.99 for 1-5 dz. that was until I received an email yesterday on the drop in price. Not sure how long this will last, but I'm assuming like discount golf they will bump the price back to 22.99/24.99 shortly

Much appreciated, sticks.

Sounds like I’ll go ahead with it to save a few dollars per dozen. I like quality, but I love inexpensive quality.

I swear by GolfDiscount for my golf balls. I will buy the AAAA TP5x balls and they look like they have been played for 1-2 holes and then shanked into the woods. No reason to buy the AAAAA balls unless you just want all 12 balls to look brand new. Otherwise the AAAA balls are perfect! I bough 3 dozen and had only 2 balls that were pretty marked up.

I also recommend tp5s from this new site if the practice balls are out of stock. https://twoguyswithballs.com?balls=416

Oh you are a sneaky one. We see you!

Are they sponsors of GolfWRX? If not, it might be the the bad kind of sneaky not just funny-sneaky or clever-sneaky.

You forgot to mention that these practice balls have that, as you called it, "nasty logo".

Oh yeah, bad sneaky! But I mean it’s used golf balls advertised on a forum and expensive used golf balls too. I think they need a better business model.

When Rock Bottom runs out... uhhh never?

I bought 2 dozen from Rockbottom Golf and love them. 2 yrs ago I had bought the Penta practice balls and they were quite good but I like these better. I prefer firmer feel off the putter and these fit the bill. Performance is very good; distance/spin/control.

Golf Avenue just ran a sale on these for $7.99/doz I think. It’s gone up some since the sale ended, but still a good price for new tp5x balls.
