Fans prefer Tiger over Rory

I finally got to watch Rory's tee shot on 1. His ball went out of bounds by 5 feet with spectators jumping out of the way.

 

Are they just pretending to like the home town golfer? What did he do to anger them? How will he get in their good graces.

 

Tigers fans would never have let that ball go OB and if it did it would have been relocated.

 

In all seriousness that was a bad shot but the pressure on that first shot had to have been crazy.

I read something along the lines of, it was OB way back in the day for a valid reason and as the course has developed they kept the OB for the sake of tradition. More than happy to be corrected.

It actually hit a woman's phone and went out of bounds, so someone did get in the way, but did not bounce back in. But there's no excuse for knocking an iron out of bounds, saw so many players and they never went close to it, and plenty players even bombed drivers into safe territory.

It's the classic 2 iron for safety play that ends in a missed putt for a trip...done it many times!

Yep. Really hard to take a big number when trying to play safe. Which is why Sometimes when nervous , just rip the big gun up the shoot. If you make a big number with that it hurts the mind less.

Hopefully, you are joking about the Tiger fans not letting the ball go OB? Or replaced?

If you are serious, Tiger fans must be monitored very strictly in future. Such behaviour is NOT in the spirit of Golf!

Rorys game is simply not complete. He's a brilliant driver but that's it....his wedge play is like a 5 handicap

His driving is fragile, and that's what I think holds back the rest of his game. If he had a more reliable drive which wasn't periodically susceptible to 2 way misses, he could probably focus on his wedge game more like DJ did.
