Prior generation you will see the "spinskin" logo in the lower middle.

New version has the spinskin writing in the lower right corner, with the added SERM branding as well. All the special in the diff sites are for the prior gen.

Is this a durability issue? I’m wondering if it’s the yellow covering wearing showing a seam underneath or the new SeRM cover?

Yes. Played a round with the Z-Star side by side with a ProV1, and while the performance was pretty similar, the Z Star cover was noticeably less durable and the seam was very visible after only a couple holes. Even if it’s only superficial, it’s enough that it stands out to me and would mess with my head. Too bad, because while it’s far cheaper than the ProV and the performance was great, I feel like I’d end up going through more swapping them out once the cover got beat up.

UPDATE:

I tried both and I am torn between the 2.

It seems the XV may be a little farther off the tee than the Z-Star. The conditions here in Jersey have been a little cold and wet.

Around the greens, I think the Z-Star seems to be a little better overall and spins better.

Putting, the Z-Star seems to be a little softer.

I am thinking of taking advantage of golfdiscount.com special and buy 6 6-packs of Z-Star and 6 6packs of the Z-Star XV.

I have been a Bridgestone fan years and have always loved the ProV1, but for the $$$, these balls perform and I personally like to play a ball that not everyone else uses, being the rebel that I am, lol!

I hear ya and I do like Bridgestone. I played the B-300s until they stopped making them. I tried the BX and man are they long. I just found them to be too firm for me.

I just think the value for the Srixon's is too good.

I do love the MTB-X. If I wasn't playing the Z Star, I'd be playing the MTB-X. I still have a supply of them so I'm sure I use them at some point during the next year.

I'm just really enjoying the softer feel of the Z Star.

What are you playing now?

Yeah...the XV was longer off the tee for me. The stock version is plenty long with the other clubs. And, the XV was shorter for me with the shorter irons. Interesting. I found I actually started clubbing up on some approach shots with the XV.
