They are listed under the NEW golf ball section on the Golfavenue website. However from the issue from a short while back that you mentioned I'd be leery of them being brand new. Sort of like when people here in the B/S/T bust out the mint/minty description when pictures show otherwise.

They appear brand new to me. And others who posted also appeared to get brand new balls.

The one or two cases of the balls not looking brand new, were not the norm.

Ordered 10 dozen on Black Friday when they were like $9 a dozen. Just ordered 22 dozen Friday evening to split between a few friends. All have looked brand new so far.

I think I got unlucky. I got 8/36 that clearly aren’t new or have markings. Just got them today. Sent golf avenue an email to rectify the issue

not to be an ass, but I kind of expect to see some practice balls with some cosmetic blemishes like pictured. My understanding is practice balls are the same exact ball as the normal ones that may have minor cosmetic issues that did not pass quality check

Exactly. There's a reason they didn't make retail shelves. They're a great ball to practice with if that's your gamer. Use them up and keep similar characteristics without wearing out new balls. For many they're probably good enough to take to the course should they choose.

At first I misunderstood what everyone was saying about scuffs because this retailer also sells used balls, but I am starting to think some don't understand what practice balls are

I think it's confusing. I don't have experience with practice balls, and nothing in the description explains that the buyer should expect scuffs or imperfections. It just gives the description of the TP5x ball and says it will have "Practice" stamped on the side. For the buyer perusing the Academy site, how would they know?

Right, which makes the buyer expect flawless balls. I guess I would expect the product page to denote flaws or blemishes if that is what one should expect. I'm a pretty knowledgeable golf buyer, and I would not have known. I'm glad I stayed away, though, since I'd rather not be second guessing and I don't have patience enough to check every ball.

I didn't notice any blemishes on the balls I got. Assuming there are blemishes, is $1 per ball a bad deal? No.
