I don't know if has been mentioned earlier or not, I don't remember seeing it, but Nike's spec page for these irons don't list bounce angles. Does anyone have them? Another thing I noticed was the very upright lie angles on their wedges? Reason?
someone mentioned bounce angles a page back I think. Also, lie angles isn't upright compared to other comparable models. Actually the pw & aw Is less upright than the pro combos.

My Nike experience, fwiw:

In early 2013, as a 6hdcp, I moved my entire bag from Titleist to Nike. Drawn in by the look of the Covert 1.0 (LOVE the red), and the technology behind it (CB), I sold my 913 D3 and 913f for the Tour Driver (KK Xstiff) and Tour 3W (KK Xstiff). AP2s are great, but I wanted to start shaping shots and went with the truest blades I could find: the VR Pro (4-PW, TT X100). The hardest decision was letting go of my Vokeys, moving to Nike Dual Wide wedges (S400). Also went from a Scotty Cameron Kombi S to a Method Midnight 006 with 342g weighting (rare). My friends called me all sorts of names, and said I was nuts. I even had my doubts about shaking it up so extremely, especially when I took the Vokeys out of my bag (palms sweat...).

Then I shot a 75 my first round, and was in love. Had never felt contact so pure across the board. The Covert added at least 15 yds to my drives and helped control the mishit. The putter just fits me perfectly. The wedges took a bit of getting used to, as they don't bite much. But the contact felt truer and the wide soles helped keep chips consistent. I was convinced I had found my set; the one that would carry me to my goal of scratch.

Shortly after, life kicked in (work, kid responsibilities, job change, move) and my game dipped. Only played a handful of rounds the rest of the year after that 75, using my free time to get the old house ready to sell, spend time with the kids, get into the new house, all while working for two startups. Hard to stay with blades when you practice/play so infrequently, and are so distracted when you actually do get to play. My frustration motivated me to make 2014 "the year of golf" - putting focus on how to get better, play more, leverage technology to help me, and concentrate on being the best golfer I can be.

Here we are, April 2014, almost a year to the day since I switched to Nike. My first step toward the year of golf was to admit that I won't be able to play blades anymore. Nike has me like the Matrix had Neo. I sold my Covert 1.0 and got the Covert 2.0 (still KK Xstiff). Sold my blades and got the Covert 2.0 Forged irons 4-AW (custom KBS Tour S+ flex, with AW KBS HiRev Xflex). Sold the Dual Wide wedges in favor of the new Toe Sweep (KBS HiRev Xflex). Putter stayed, as did the 3wood.

Can't say enough positive things about my new bag! The irons are the best I have ever played, and the feel is impeccable. I would argue that they feel better than the blades on "pured" shots. If you're a shaper, it's true that you won't be able to shape it like you can with blades. But I assure you, I shape them enough to get around and the ball will go farther and straighter, with a better overall feel. Ball flight is higher with similar low spin, generating more carry and less "run". The wedges have allowed me to get back to biting the ball inside 100 and the toe sweep makes getting out of the sand fun (as fun as it can be). The hardest part of the switch so far is adjusting to the distance - these 2.0s ducking BOMB! I hit a 250yd 5 iron yesterday through a 25mph cross wind. On a par three from 203yds, same crosswind, my 6I carried over the green. Heard a lot of "You hit/are hitting what?!" from my group, like when I stepped to a 170 par 3 with my 9I. Not super proud since I'm still feeling them out, but admittedly it is kind of cool...

In a technological context, we all know that the degrees of variation are getting smaller amongst the companies. Think we can also agree that shaft technology, and having your L/L/L fit perfectly for your height, swing, address are the biggest keys to enjoying your bag. But I haven't hit anything else (Ping, Mizzy, Titleist, TM, Cobra, Bridgestone) that feel as good as Nike's Covert 2.0s. Coming off blades, they feel like cheating. I'm having a blast on the course again and once I get the new distances down, I genuinely think that I can hit max potential with Nike's technology.

Probably tldr for most, but thought I would share.

Does anyone have the bounce numbers for these irons?

I got an answer from Nike and posted it a few pages back. I'd provide the link bit I'm on my phone and searching isn't the easiest. From what I recall the low irons where 3deg and the PW tops out at 6deg.

Response from Nike Live Chat. You were right on poipoi.

Great irons. Let me check. I am looking for it since it is not in catalog.

chat_agent.png Kyle: 3 iron - 7 iron = 3.0 degrees 8 and 9 = 4.0 PW = 6.0 AW and SW = 6.5.

chat_enduser_message.png RFarrell: Perfect. Thanks Kyle!

Pretty low bounce on the AW & SW! ??

Bob, this is from a live chat I had with a rep.

It's been years since I was on a trackman, Lobber. Seem to remember being around 120 - Titleist rep called it "tour speed" but I think he was just trying to sell me a new driver, ha. My typical 5I (27deg) is around 210. These 2.0s are 25deg, so that probably has something to do with it.

I want to know as well, I want to get VRS forged 4-7, 8-PW CB, or maybe 9-PW in the MB.

But would have to special order the lofts to fit the gap, like you said.

edit: Nike is coming out with new blades in the Fall. Would be nice to have those in the 9 and PW.

I was just sent an email from Golfsmith that my custom ordered set will have to be cancelled. The heads are no longer available for custom order. What??? I ordered them 1 up, with the DG Pro's. That's it! Can't get them. Do they mean just for now? Maybe in a couple of weeks??? Bummed!!! Might rethink the Apex. Or maybe the new SLDR irons next month.

Did they run out of the forged heads? That's weird for sure. So, you can only buy them stock (off the rack) but not custom order made by Nike?

I'll find out more on Thursday when I go to the store. The Golfsmith rep said he might be able to send a stock shelf set back and have the DG Pro's installed, then bend to spec when they return. Don't think I gonna do that. I won't be able to sleep tonight!

Apex? They offer the DG Pro's at no upcharge.

Please follow up with this. I am between the Covert Forged and Apex (along with a few others). Since I need a very custom order (+1.25" and 3 degrees upright), this would eliminate the Nikes. Which would be a bummer.

Weird. We ordered a custom set for a customer two days ago. I don't remember what the shaft was, but they needed to be bent flat.

Any more reviews of those that have had these on the course now for a little while?
I have about 12 rounds with them. I'm not a short hitter, but not a bomber either. I'm hitting all the irons 1 club farther with shape control. My problem is the short irons are extremely hot so my touch is off. 100 yards with the gap wedge is tricky not to airmail the green. Still very happy! I think they are an advantage over other clubs!

Very weird considering it's part of the 2014 iron release. I guess you can order them standard and take them to shop and get them bent to your specs. But's that more hassle and money. Not good.

This is crazy. There has got to be someone with a legit Nike connection that can at least get a reasonable explanation. Sales are so slow that customizing is unprofitable? A new release or tweak if coming soon? A quality control issue?
