Looks like someone verbally abused Na today from the Gallery.
Stallings said after the round that they were evening yelling in his back swing. Apparently they were doing much of the same on the Thursday as well.

I feel bad for Na. Given his current game and routine, he doesn't deserve any of the bad press he is getting.

Take away the Arnie lovefest and this is just another Florida event. The course is average at best.

scott is simply the only anomaly this week on this course....the scores at 2nd place and below are probably where the tournament actually falls with how scores would be otherwise

Bay Hill course presents daunting challenge

March 19, 2014

Players were generally raving about the conditions this week for his Bay Hill course, which Arnold Palmer always has tried to make as treacherous as possible with slick greens and gnarly rough.

"Arnie kind of wants it to play as a U.S. Open off the tees and Augusta-esque around the greens," Graeme McDowell said.

It hasn't always worked. Tiger Woods won the past two years shooting 13-under par. But the best scores are usually in single digits against par. Woods shot 5-under to win in 2009. If it's that tough this year, 2014 will probably be remembered as the most challenging Florida Swing in PGA Tour history.

"It's no longer sunshine-resort golf courses," McDowell said. "It's a tough test of golf."

That's largely due to the re-design at Doral, where the wind howled and Patrick Reed won at 4-under par. Russell Henley won the Honda Classic at 8-under, and John Senden won the Valspar Championship at 7-under. Senden thinks Bay Hill will be as difficult, which is a good thing.

"I like it when you shoot par and you actually beat players," he said.

Adam Scott is running away with it at this point. If he posts the a decent round sunday, i'd say it's over.

Good course, not as tough as Innisbrook, but some very challenging holes. I appreciate what Palmer has done for the game (who doesn't?), but every year this love fest by Golf Channel gets a bit tiresome.
you just have to give the man his due each time he's on :)

History and programming

The network was launched on January 17, 1995. The idea of a 24-hour golf network came from media entrepreneur Joseph E. Gibbs of Birmingham, Alabama, who first thought of such a concept in 1991. Gibbs felt there was enough interest in golf among the public to support such a network, and commissioned a Gallup Poll to see if his instincts were correct. With the support of the polling behind him, Gibbs and legendary golfer Arnold Palmer then secured $80 million in financing to launch the network, which was among the first cable networks developed to cover one singular sport.

off topic, but the patrons at these events are horrible.

You'd think it was a bunch of drunken guys, but the ladies were actually the worst offenders today. I've heard more women shout stupid stuff after a shot is hit, or just randomly at any point for that matter, or talking loud, etc., compared to any men (and the men you do hear are usually under 25 but they were by far in the minority). Oh, and in case you didn't get the memo, bringing crying babies to tournaments is not a good idea, just thought you should know ladies.

Also, I really appreciate all of the retirees that come out to volunteer, but they have very little control over the crowds. I've heard volunteers say to please stand still to people, and they just keep walking, so 2, 3, 4 more times later, people sort of stop. After one shot is hit, they all start walking again so they have to say it all over again. You expect them to break down and just say, stop Fing moving you morons... there's a golf tournament going on! Go back to your shanties.

The best is what you over hear people saying, like, is that Tiger? Who are these guys playing? Wait, where is the green (it's that thing you're literally standing in front of ding dong). Yet they'll press you out of a spot to watch. You know, cause it's really important to have a good view when you scream "I love you Ricky" after he hits a shot on 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 12, 16, 18, but who's really counting. Or after Scott hits a drive, "Go get'm baby", which was sort of awkward.

I wish they spread the popular players out better, because having Bubba, Fowler, Snedeker, Scott, and Rose in back to back groups was a total cluster F.

With that said, it's still fun as heck to see these guys up close anytime you get the chance. I'm a golf nerd i guess, cause my favorite spot is the range. I could just sit there for hours watching the players hit balls. Amazing!

I wonder what Patrick Reed would say if asked to reconsider his top five status after playing alongside Scott. The guy could be close to -20 under after 2 rounds. Has missed 4 or 5 inside 15 feet today, as well as making a mess of two bunker shots.
And he's sick. Playing so well. Rare to see a course record like yesterday followed up with a second really strong day, but Adam turned in the second best round again. Great to see.

On another note, how does Casey go 67 - 79??? That is just hard to fathom for a Tour pro.

Not this week. If Tiger doesn't play in Texas, which I don't see, then at the Masters, he'll be #1.

Take away the Arnie lovefest and this is just another Florida event. The course is average at best.

Funny, as I watched the coverage today (Friday) I couldn't help thinking that Bay Hill is one of the finest tournament courses in pro golf.

I'd like to see the bunkers deepened, and given a more "natural" look, and any TOUR course could always use more length, but I like Bay Hill very much.

There are a good number of holes that setup for the draw player, but there are also some great holes to fade the ball as well. There are holes that can jump up and kill your scorecard, and others that are fairly easy for the taking. One thing is for sure, it's a worthy track.
