If Tiger played like Adam did today with a 7 shot lead this thread would be 10 pages longer.. very interesting lack of commentary going on here

So aside from the almost train wreck that got Adam today, I think someone is now going to run him down tomorrow and take it from him.

I can just see Keegan going crazy tomorrow, Scott playing average and Keegan ending up winning. Hopefully that doesn't happen.
I'm really torn. My two favorite players are in the final group. On one hand, having Scott win going into the Masters as the champion, and new #1 in the world, would be great. But KB is just so clutch and I always want to see him play well. Should be interesting tomorrow, that's for sure.

...+1...

i hope i'm wrong but it looked like adam scott wasn't intimidating anyone today with his early play and if that remains the same tomorrow he will be caught early....and beaten..

but...if he catches fire early...it's a different story.

Got to give Sounders credit, he turned down sponsors invite last year bc in his words wasn't playing well enough.

Daly are you paying attention.

And Duval.

we're not comparing two majors champions that have fan followings with Arnolds grandson are we? No offense to Sounders, but we're comparing apples and oranges.

I feel the same way.

After Phil Mickelson, Keegan and Adam are among the relative few guys I really pull for.

Keegan hasn't won since August 2012 when he prevailed in the WGC event at Firestone. He could really use a sweet victory in Arnie's tournament.

As for Adam, failing to hold on to a seven stroke 36 hole lead would be a bruise for him. I don't want to see that.

I say Adam Scott wins tomorrow. Seems like most of the guys chasing him are scrubs. It's the truth so get over it. :D

I was comparing Duval to Daly. Both former greats well past their best. Apples to apples. Can't speak for first poster.

Stevie Williams to win another big one tomorrow.

You think it will be the best Bay Hill win of his career?

Hopefully this time no reporter will have the brilliant idea to ask him and start another armageddon...

I would love nbc to throw a camera in his face if Adam wins. His comments would undoubtedly make for interesting reading pre-Augusta. However, even Stevie isn't arrogant enough to behave that way again. Especially playing with such a class act like Adam Scott. Once was bad enough.

Absolutely not; I was one of the few that defended JD's choice to accept on another thread, Sponsors exemptions are a "free market" economic decision made mostly for financial reasons, subsequently who is anyone to judge A; the sponsor for making it, B the player for accepting it. This isnt Communist China, where its strictly based on seniority, BUT, and thats a big BUT, Ive disliked JD's fundamental philosophy toward grinding it out whether its tour school or WEB.COM. It was refreshing to see someone like Saunders say hey, I am really not worthy of this. GC reports and other players say John is working at it harder than he ever has, where is the work, how many web.com starts? He's the only guy Ive seen that has , PGA champion and The Open Champion, inscribed on his bag, he's living off the past and IMOP going through the motions till he gets to the Cart tour. Instead of forging his future, he gets PGA and The Open Champion tatoo''d on his bag to remind himself of his flash of greatness and avoids hard work and the risk of getting shown up on the developmental tour; thus a microcosm of his who life.

He's undoubtedly a a good man (his generosity to the family of the Girls who's father was killed when daly won his first major) but his disposition toward his craft is disheartening to watch as he could have been one of the greats.

First, it's Saunders (not Sounders). The kid knows the course better than anyone. But, I don't think he got enough of those great golf genes from Arnie.

Scott needs to play well today, he is clearly in the crosshairs. He said after Friday that a 7 shot lead was not enough. There are too many talented players out there capable of chasing him down. But it will be fun to watch today.

The course in such great condition, and the wind hasn't been too bad, that there are potential low scores out there.

Mahan?
Hunter Mahan withdraws at Bay Hill

Hunter Mahan has withdrawn from the Arnold Palmer Invitational because of soreness in his lower back.

Mahan says his back began to hurt on the practice range Sunday at Bay Hill.

He hit his tee shot on the par-3 second hole Sunday and realized his back was only getting worse and he couldn't make a proper swing. He spent about 30 minutes in the fitness trailer getting treatment after he walked off the course.

Mahan says he first felt a twinge in his back for a couple of holes at Doral. He thought nothing of it until the twinge returned during his week off.

He says he is not overly concerned and would be surprised if he can't play the Shell Houston Open in two weeks.

With Keegan being "mentored" by Michael Jordan and Phil Mickelson, you just know he'll do fine.

Also, I love seeing the great Vijay Singh still playing regularly on the PGA TOUR at 51. I wish more of the great seniors would do this.

there isn't anyone out there more pi**ed than vijay....IMO he'll be playing the PGA Tour as long as he can to have his face seen as a "f you" to finchem
