So Damon Hack takes the day after The Masters to get on a soap box and complain about a kid, yes a kid, that showed signs of disgust at his own play. Wow, really? A kid is his first major and contending for the win gets a little and I mean a little visibly upset over a few shots under pressusre of a major win? Wow, really?

Damon, how come you never said a word about years and even decades of Tiger doing the same and worse? Cussing, throwing clubs. Cavorting with women while married? Really. You're gonna get all over a young kid and give Tiger a free ride? Really? Tiger does to this day.

Trust me this isn't just Damon. It's the parent company behind this. They wouldn't allow him to come on and "just do this". This was an orchestrated event. For shame Golf Channel and NBC. For shame. All this because they are upset because their little Tiger didn't make the show.

When a 20 year old slams his club on national TV it's because he needs to mature and better "watch himself", but when a 38 year old does it it's because he's such an intense competitor...wait, what?

I'll be the first to say he should have handled himself better. Yes he should have. I didn't see him throw a club. I didn't see him mutter a cuss word. I saw him dusgusted....at himself. I bet he didn't go chasing women last night and end up in a Perkins parking lot.

Yet another reason why I quit watching MD. I'm sure if any of the idiots on this show had a chance - which we all know they don't and won't - to play in the final pairing of the Masters they would be absolutely perfect! Jordon Speith has more talent, class and manners than the whole group of the loud mouth wantabe's on MD ever could hope to have.

He's always trying to get personal lessons on the show too, by asking the teaching pros guests.

Exactly. A lot of those complaining have short term memories because Tiger was lambasted for his actions at Augusta. Especially with him kicking his iron after his tee shot on 16 (2012).

Throw in him not applying the rule properly and taking an incorrect drop on Friday (2013) and you would have thought he should be banned from ever stepping on the property again.

Spieth did fine. Was it perfect? No. He'll learn from it and move on. It's not like he was going all happy Gilmore on the course or something.

It's funny that some golf coverage can talk about the stereotypes of young golfers and here comes someone who is passionate about the game, respectful to others and has an amazing drive to win. I thought it was great in Spieth's post round interview that he was talking about teeing it up on Thursday with the goal of winning.

We need more Jordan Spieth and less Damon Hack.

I thought Spieth handled himself well. He maybe toed the line just a bit with a slight slam on number ten, but he certainly didn't cross it. Most guys in his position don't break 80 and i'm amazed at his ability to compete week in and week out. If you listen to what he said after the round, he comes off as someone who just wants it in a bad way! IMO, this has been going on for years, we all just have the means to see it now as opposed to in the past.

I always find it kind of amusing and a little annoying when journalists, which hack is a solid one, all of the sudden start judging players behavior when they've never broken 80 in a competitive round in their life let alone played in any type of legitimate tournament golf environment.

Journalists should focus purely on how the kid gutted out a great performance at such a young age under such immense pressure on one of the toughest courses in the world.

I didn't care for the club slam. But I'm certainly guilty of that in my younger days ... with the pressure [i]just slightly [/i]lower than the Masters...

Non issue .. he will improve how he carries himself (which is already very good) and play even better as a result. I'd be surprised if we aren't watching him on Sunday coming up in June.

I don't want rebots on the course either. However, he wasn't just getting "upset at himself." He was repeatedly letting go of his club in his follow-through, something Tiger is chastised for, and at one time yelled and slammed his club into the turf.

Seeing what Jordan was going to do after each bad shot was about the only reason left to continue watching that snooze fest of a final round. No Drama, no roars, no Phil/Tiger/Rory in the mix.

I think his behavior was typical for a 20 year old in contention. His frustrations over his poor ball striking were understandable. It's hard to compete when your swing is not fundamentally sound.

I agree and can't believe it was brought up to be such a huge deal. I usually don't mind Hack but, he was way out of line with his soap box preaching. It's not like it was that bad. Ironically, on last Sunday's Drive, Chip and Putt there was a competitor who missed the grid with two drives and let out a "what the he** was that." How come Hack didn't call the parents out on that one? I can see a 14 year old acting like a 14 year old but where were the parents?
