What putter did you just buy ?

Just bought this for £5, would you refinish and remove the rust or just refill the paint? Took it out on my local par 3 last night and felt lovely

Honestly, if it's getting the ball in the hole I wouldn't change a thing.

 

Putters have a tendency to act up though, so there are a couple schools of thought on how to deal with that:

 

1) Show her some attention - maybe a coke bath followed by some light sanding and/or beadblast and polishing followed by a gun blue or cold black ox job.

 

2) Bench her - when she sees another girl in the bag she'll straighten up her act.

 

I've used both with success, but each putter is different and there is no tried and true formula. :derisive:

 

I'll give her a sand and refill then. Give her another game, then bench her for my B60. Let them scrap it out between themselves!

Thanks. I know very little about the putter and actually bought it with shop credit that I won in a tournament at a club near my house. I rolled some balls with it and it is solid, but not going in the bag anytime soon.

My latest is a Bettinardi BB0 in a raw finish. I wasn't a huge fan of the blue and tiffany setup, so I've stripped and repainted in solid white fill, added a white Barramundi exotic grip and finished it off with the new En Fuego Bettinardi tour headcover. Yet to hit the greens, but I'm thrilled with the look and feel of it when carpet putting.

I just received this yesterday, a Tour BB8 with sound slot and can't wait to try it out this afternoon. It's another naked putter. So far feels great, nice balance and super feel. Update: It's not the prettiest putter I own but it sinks putts! I am down to 1.6 per round since I put in play. My level of confidence has risen greatly when on the green.

I have used it for about six rounds now. My putting has never been so good. Making more putts than ever before. And my lagging has saved me so many strokes. I definitely feel more confident 10 feet and in, and I'm automatic from 5 feet in. The insert is super soft. Which is a problem on very long lag putts. Outside of that it's a fantastic putter

Picked up an Odyssey versa #7 @ Golfsmith a few weeks back off the used rack! Since then, I've had three rounds of less then 30 putts! Even shot my lowest back nine at the club!

Scored this...Rolls like a Bettinardi feels like carbon with how smooth and soft it is. And this super stroke Pistol GT Tour is amazing!!! Perfect decision for Odyssey to buy them. But personally, I think they would make a gigantic impact on the market if they were in the $250 range (at least for a bit). That would get a lot of people to try them out instead of going to Scotty or Bettinardi.

Sensor model, heavy head (370 grams) with a full face copper insert that extends through the face to the cavity, where he did his extruded Lizard logo. Sightline on top, no paint fill in cavity, bumpers, or sole. Face has his milled groove with his name in a vertical stack under the hosel .

 

Also added a nice little touch with the copper shaft band with lizard logo milled into it.

My most recent putter, amazing restoration by George, Dawn Patrol here on GolfWRX. Best work I've had done and I've had half dozen or so restorations and refinishes, mainly on Scotty TEI3. This was a beat up EBay find originally. Amazing.
