RBZ Tour 3 is anywhere from 235-255.
And that lies the problem, I almost hit it too far.
I have scaled back to a 22* hybrid, and the stage 2 thats in my bag is almost as long...

Maybe I can try something out of a box set...Or a 6 hybrid...I just want something that goes 210 to cover my gap from my 5 iron.
is that with accuracy? I see you have your handicap listed as 36 so I'm assuming thats a full-bore crank for distance. either way. thats impressive.
I can put it in a 20 yard circle at that distance. My handicap is a 36 because that is default. I do not know what it is. I shoot low 90's
with that accuracy I'm assuming you hit all par 5 greens in 2?? assuming you hit your hybrid that far you, probably hit you're driver in the 300+ yard range. I'm having serious doubts here. If you could do that you would be shooting better than low 90s my friend. the average green is roughly 6,000 square feet which is about 25 square yards.

I have said it before and I will say it again. I can hit the long shots but I can't chip to save my life!
If I don't make the ball on the green with a wood or hybrid I can guarantee 2-3 stokes just using my irons/wedges. Then I have to putt.

For me a par 3 ends up being a 6-7 stoke hole. I did pickup a new set of irons and wedges and I am taking lessons so that's helping a lot.

exactly why i said he must have a miserable short game...the short game saves you tons of strokes

I just got a set of Super LS XTD hybrids. I believe last years model. I was hooking them at first but i've got the hang of them now. I think with more practice these can definitely help my game. I'm getting great consistency with them being the same model . Hiting the 22* 205-220, the 19* 220-235ish and the 15* is my get-it-close-to-the-green-in-two-with-confidence club. I must add that the feel and sound is a bit muted. A good strike almost feels like you completely missed the ball, but the ball just seems to rocket off the face, it seems to just get there quicker.

As others have said it's all about gaps for you. And consistency.

I'm really joe average (the non-Wrx avg) swinger in my early 60's. My 3H distance is around 175. Which is is fine as it fits into the appropriate gaps to the 4 and 5 hybrids below it, then to my irons. And above the 3H to my 16.5 wood. I go driver after the 16.5*.

My gaps now are fine for me and I'm happy still with my G20 hybrids. I realize now that if I add a club between my irons and my longest fairway club (or possibly if I change irons) I may need to change several others.

This thread was good for reinforcing that thought as on a whim I bought a 19* fairway the other day on a great deal. I realized that it was going to mess up my gaps big-time. I was able to get it back for refund before I messed up the bag that works for me for gaps and versatility and what consistency I can muster.

I might however consider trying a G25 3W at some point for a few more yards, as I find the 4W so easy and the shaft length is the same.

Think about it...if you hit your hybrid 230+, you can certainly play it off the tee, then its just a controlled shot into greens, unless its a par 5 where you can unleash again. Then just a half/quarter shot; an excellent option just to punch onto the green if you miss. Then putting with a hybrid is probably the easiest to use of all clubs, putter obviously excluded, because it is not too long and you get the ball rolling right off the face. I'm definitely going to do it soon.

I had this epiphany driving home today lol

I played my 3 hybrid my last round and had my best round. found every fairway and did not suffer much distance loss compare to my driver.

Yea it's crazy hearing how far ppl on this thread carry their 3-hybrid. There really is no use for anything in between. I took my 5W out of the bag for this very reason -- especially when I had 235 to the hole and I carried it to the pin the other day thinking I'd come up short to lead myself with a simple pitch. The technology in these hybrids are incredible today, especially when higher degree hybrids are bumping 14*-18* FWs out of bags.

When I was playing a 19* hybrid, I was carrying it 240. I hated it because it was going as far as my old 5 wood and my 4 iron flies 215. 25 yards is too much. So I went back to 3 wedges, a 3 and 5 wood combo and bought an iron like hybrid and put a very stiff, heavier graphite iron shaft in it. It's a RIP 90 in x flex. So my 3 dhy flies 230 from the turf and 235 from the tee. Also my 3 dhy is 39 inches long.

Callaway X2hot Hybrid 18* carries around 230. I can tone it down comfortably to 215 and ramp it up to 245 if needed.
That sounds about right for my Callaway FTiz. I rarely need that yardage from the fairway though - usually slightly more or much less. I keep the 3-iron in the bag because I prefer the iron off the tee.
