The Wager...

All I know about cricket is there is a bowler and a batsman. The bowler is trying to hit the wicket and the batsman is trying to knock the heck out of the ball and score runs by going between a couple of wickets. I have no idea how something "outs" occur other than from hitting the wicket and from catching a struck ball. I will have to read "Cricket for Dummies" sometime soon... or ask friends who play. :)

As a lefty playing right handed, I am surprised more people don't do the switch over like in hockey so there is more strength on the "pulling" arm. Then again, I am dominant right eyed. I found that out in baseball when one day I went up right handed and almost bombed one over the center field fence. Oh, and I am right footed.
Right handed - hockey, golf, shooting (trap and skeet mostly), fishing (fly fishing).
Left handed - baseball (throwing), volleyball (hitting), tennis, bowling, fishing (spinning reel, go figure).

Also, I have a question for any of you that helped me earlier with the club building. My g15 4 wood head is a .350 head and the shaft I have is a .335. What do I do now???
Would a .335 shaft work if it were shimmed into a g25 hybrid? Or is the hybrid a .370?
Hybrid is most likely .370, but shims may work though :)

When I was younger I was kicked out of minor hockey for being too "rough" lol. How can you be too rough for hockey?? :)
LOL,

That's impressive. I don't follow hockey, but know punches are thrown in most matches. Wow too rough to even be kept on the team as a goon? I mean as a goon, Sir. ;)

Minor hockey doesn't allow fighting like Junior and above does. So once i got kicked out in midget i went straight to the local junior b team and fit in there perfectly lol. The final straw to my minor hockey league career was fighting the 5 guys on the ice for the other team and KO'ing their goalie in the xmas tourny lol.

I did once in a tournament go up into the stands after a game to try to fight a parent of the other team who was running his mouth lol, I'm starting to see why they kicked me out hahaha. We had lost and i was going around shooting the other teams gloves and helmets into the stands and this parent had something to say about it lol.

Those last two posts! :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy: I'd say you're a bit on the competitive side. Sounds like you'd make a good inside linebacker on a football team. Did you ever have a chance to play American football?

Yeah, I'm one of those extremely competitive people. If I can gain a competitive advantage somehow, i'm finding it lol. I hate to lose. I'm a great teammate but you don't want to play against me hahaha

Never played organized football but played pick up fb and loved it, I was a good receiver. Put that ball within 5' of me and I'm catching it :)

You're not alone sir,
I got suspended 2 games, and had to practice with the Jr. varsity squad my senior year of football. I got my starting position back finally, and then broke my arm in practice.

I'm a great person to have on your team, but I'm terrible to play against lol. I've since calmed myself down in my older years now but am still quite competitive when I the time calls for it :)

I've learned to appreciate a good match win or lose now and learn from the experience. If I'm playing with better players I try to watch them and figure out what makes them better and learn from it. Especially in golf, there is so much to be learned from watching a better player play if you just look closely. :)

G25 hybrid would be a .370 I believe. I'm no expert, but a quick search function suggests inserting a fwy shaft into a hybrid would likely present other problems even if you did get it in from differences both in shaft profiles and head weight of the club it was originally designed for.
The stock G25 hybrid shafts for example are 76 &77 reg and stiff.

I'd hate to see you ruin a shaft and recommend that you pose questions like this in the Clubmaking Forum where experts such as Stuart and Howard Jones hang out.

Agree. And...though LPGA golf is not as exciting to watch, they play shots I have a much better chance of emulating. Champions Tour too, though that might be partly as I'm old school and can relate to some older school swing patterns better.

Pige we may have a personality trait at least a little in common. Like you I enjoyed team sports growing up. My build (was a little taller and leaner than most) I ended up playing more basketball than anything., It was all good until....

I hated losing and the minute an opponent, ref, competing coach.... ANYTHING got in my head... I stopped playing the game and started down the revenge trail. Terrible temper and had a mouth on me that would peel paint.

Finally one day coach called me in to his office after practice. This quiet calm talk unfolds. LOL - I guess he saw in my eyes it wasn't sinking in (again). The man started toward me (thought he was walking over to pat me on the back and wrap things up with a smile!).

SURPISE! He grabs a fist full of my jersey and yanks me nose-to-nose. Basically tells me I have a choice. Play the game - stay focused - calm the "f" down - or we're done. I had to chose right there right now. Hand over the jersey or get it together. LOL so much for the little quiet calm discussion!

Was a young golfer back then losing my temper, throwing clubs, and such.

I owe that basketball coach plenty. I still hate to losing. But I love playing more. My days of caring any one putt or any match or round is some sort of mythical kill or be killed moment - its long ago over. Age, being a parent, coaching kids over the years.... guess I had to learn to not be such a head case and got lucky to learn it without ending up dead in some useless fight (one I would have probably started over some useless moment not worth fighting over).

Ya know to this day - I'd rather rack up a bucketful of fun and rewarding moments just to keep the scales tipped away from the memory bank weight of those old hot-head days. I play to win just like you pal... but believe me,... no one is going to end up dead or wounded in the process.... life is too short, right? (I mean, eh???) LOL!!!!

I got picked up by the cops for DUI. I also lost my drivers license for a year. My parents weren't too proud either, I only got to go to school, church, and work for three months. Looking back now I realize I deserved all of what I got, even though I missed out on a lot that year. Most of the rest of the team were party animals too, but I was the "lucky" one who got caught. It was also unusual to lose your license for any length of time for a first offense, but evidently, the judge I drew that day was in a foul mood and threw the book at me. That was 35 years ago, and people who know me now, hardly believe I've ever been in trouble in my life, and only my closest friends and members of the football team even remember it happened.
I guess it straightened me out a bit. I still drink beer, but not when I'm driving. A couple years ago I played in a coal mine scramble with some of my old football buddies, and I decided very early in the day to drink water. Glad I did, everybody else was asleep when we rolled back into town.

I've never got a dui, but I did come very close one time. I blew a warning and was in my bosses truck and had to leave it on the side of the road all night. Which was right at the end of his subdivision, needless to say I went back and got the truck at 6am and got it home before he saw it. But it was a lesson learned for me, never again. I don't even drink anymore now.

Reasy I wish I had of had a coach like that, my coaches usually just egged me on lol. When I had my meeting with the president of minor hockey about being kicked out he asked me a few questions and he didn't like my answers lol. The main one being is it ok to hurt another player?? My answer, Yes. If I take a 2 minute penalty and put the other teams best player out for the game. Its an advantage for my team and a worthwhile penalty. Once I get out of the box, the other team is then missing there best player and my team is full strength. Apparently hurting people is never the best option lol. Even with a clean hit, I was a really good body checker, I had really good timing for open ice hits :)

Not yet, I'm still awaiting the arrival of the 3 heads and 3 adapters. The heads have been shipped and are on route and the adapters are on there way from China I think lol. They will take the longest most likely, I'll probably just end up going to GT and buying more if they don't show up by the time the heads do so I don't have to wait :)

That's like when you were a kid waiting on Christmas. I need to learn the finer points of club making. I posted about my one disaster attempt at trying it earlier. I probably didn't get the hosel cleaned out good enough, I just drilled out the broken piece of shaft, and sanded it with sand paper wrapped around a stick.
