Based on an email chain between Richard and Byron one would have thought the contest was to be handmades and non-anser shapes. Nothing that could mass produced, nor seen before.

All of the sticks are great for their own reasons, but there was definitely some miscommunication.

Byron has done much nicer custom's in my opinion then what was submitted in this thread, but as you say maybe there was a misunderstanding as to what type of putter to enter, also would have been nice to see other makers as well. Everyone has their own favorite boutique putter house and then others have their favorite bigger putter makers.

Kingston had me until the Chive appeared on the sole. Seemore it is for the what I assume is an illegal but interesting alignment aid!

Are they in the same price hemisphere though? Maybe machine is, but if there's another company that gets you out the door under $300 for a carbon anser style head then I must have missed that thread... That said, if any of your collection are looking for a new home in the low 3 figures think of me!!!

Looks like some of the builders might have been confused on the rules. I wonder if Xenon was invited for this contest, that guy has been doing some really great looking putters the last couple years.

Maybe someone fom GolfWRX can chime in on what were the official rules to this contest. It seems some were confused on the rules so which is it? Were they explained clearly and uniformly to everyone or not?

And yes, this was a very nice contest, but what an incredible contest had more makers been involved, BUT with the stipulation that THEY the MAKERS had to make it or shape it,,,,, not an employee but THEIR own creation from the CNC, no machine sole/pocket machine engraving but a TRUE one of a kind,,,,

I like the Byron to, it's definitely something different from what we are used to seeing from him. I would like it better if the top line was thinner, back was wider and stamps/paint were a little cleaner.

 

Then if he painted it white, and stamped "TaylorMade" on the sole, it might have a chance to make it in your bag.

Not a fan of any of them. I don't like any of the head shapes and that diving board abomination on the See More is horrible. IMHO, if you're doing a custom putter competition it should be open to all head shapes OR it should be one specific head shape for all competitors. Also there has to be a list of criteria like finish, stampings, milling, welded neck, etc. as part of the requirements. As others have said, it would have been really nice to have some more companies involved.

Man, for me it is hard [b]NOT [/b]to vote for the Machine. Whit all of it's versatility and ingenuity built in, there isn't a close second.

I like the see more but I can't help thinking that the alignment aid is going to get bent or break off in time.
