Some more good news that I don't think has been mentioned. And more proof that they hear everything we say here at GolfWRX.

Nike will FINALLY be launching a DEDICATED GOLF WEBSITE.

No more having to deal with navigating the corporate website.

Plus, they hinted there may be some nice surprises with the new website. They wouldn't go any further than that though....

Man i thought I was set on the RSi TPs, but from what I've seen here I think I start to like the VPCs more and more.
I'd be willing to but the RSI TP up against the VPC and do an honest review. I simply cannot imagine any iron in this category (Players GI) can come close to the combination of Feel, forgiveness, look at address, workability, and distance that the VPC offers.
I currently game the MP4s and while they are very pretty I am looking for more forgiveness in the long irons, while maintaing the control in the short irons. From what I have read here, it sounds like the VPCs offer exactly what I am looking for

I think they are!

What I love is that the short irons are one piece forged and the mid and long irons are 6 piece forged. Best of all worlds in my opinion.

Then you can always mix in the pro at any point in the set.

Pretty sure the same people who built the Obamacare website built Nike's current website...

Looking forward to your review!

Between the pro and pro combo, what were the differences in distance, spin and launch? And how were the mis hits on them? Thanks!

Just give it to me straight, Tai.

Am I picking up a Flex in the spring? I still have a Whiteboard 83-X with a flexloft tip on it lying around.

And how much of a difference (All other things equal) am I going to see compared to the 430? Like you, the Covert Tour just didn't do it and the 2.0 looked horrible to me.

Especially the green Kool Aid. :bad:

I don't think that is a fair generalization.

Truth is that I only had 2 clubs in my bag form our first oven trip in my bag when I arrived this time.

Tai had only one, the Rory/Tai putter.

Nike only expects us to play what we think is better.

Point taken. At the end of the day we will all hit the equipment and make decisions for ourselves. The idea is not to discredit the product with one comment. The information I have from the RSi TP is that the technology works - consistent across the face. From a metrics standpoint I can't back up my claim but the feel and sound of the NIKE irons will fit many of our games. The other fact is that the irons and driver handedly beat out my current bag - which IMO opinion was not a bad bag. So yes, I am telling you that it worked for me - you will make a decision that fits your game.

Scott, thanks for the updates while you're working on the full review..

Don't think you've addressed it directly (750 posts in here before you guys have even reviewed!) but could you comment around lofts in speed vs vpc? For example, would you have a speed 3 iron lofted differently to gap with a vpc 4?

Awesome stuff, and thanks again for the interim updates!

The Speed iron is very different from a construction standpoint, so yes, there is a difference in lofts, with the Speed being I believe 1 or 2 stronger depending on the iron.

That said, I have speed 3 and VPC 4, and I like the slightly stronger loft on the Speed 3, as it lengthens the gap between the two irons and better fits that slot. My next club is a 4 wood.

That's such a good news!

I had written about how Nike Golf website needs improvement in several threads, even I send a few feedback messages in the past. I guess I was not easy to convince corporate but it was necessary to take that action.

Are you? Yes. It's been one of the lowest launching and spinning heads I have hit in a while, including the 430.. with much better feel, shape and sound. I don't want to get ahead of myself because I need to test it on my course and in competitive rounds to see how it holds up under pressure and how the forgiveness is when I need it. The distance is definitely there, no doubt about it.. I think you will definitely be trying it. The head shape with the softened toe area frames the ball so nicely at address and I think you will really love the feel/sound. Both on the Trackman and at the round at Shady Oaks, I hit some very long and straight drives basically cold turkey right off the Trackman fitting. 182 BS, 10ish launch and sub 2000 spin.. I haven't seen numbers like that in any driver I have tested in my shootouts. The best part is that I can move the launch spin both up or down from that position depending on conditions or if my swing changes.

None of the Nike stuff from last year made very long in my bag, the entire Nike team pretty much all knew it when I showed up at the Oven.. I showed up with basically zero Nike clubs, except the Rory putter and felt very happy with the Vapor line coming out of the fitting. BUT, it was only one day, one session, and 9 holes.. it's going to take a lot more time and a lot more shots under different conditions and playing situations for me to tell, but I like what I see so far. As with last year, I will give it to you straight.. No BS if the stuff doesn't work. My only allegiance is to lowering the numbers on my scorecard at the end of the round :)
