Bumping this back up just because I love my G's. :good:

Latest iteration of my G love has me in G30's w/Recoil 110's. Best damn clubs I've ever played. Absolutely love the shafts, and the 30 heads are awesome as well. When reshafting I reduced the length of the long irons a little and weakened the lofts. Both are right in between the standard G30 and G25 specs now. Been struggling with my swing a little lately so forcing myself to go to the range more regularly, and don't like to pound on these clubs at the range too much. A local shop has a NOS set of G10's w/graphite that caught my eye. Trying to talk myself out of spending that much for back up irons though. At any rate, I'm still firmly in the G camp and ain't leave'n anytime soon.

Ping G400 Max driver w/Aldila Rogue 125 Silver
Ping G425 5 wood & hybrid
Ping G30 irons w/Recoil 95

Ping G425 irons w/Accra ICWT 2.0 95
Ping Glide wedges w/Recoil 110

Owned 41 sets of irons of which a few Pings ,i5s (still have),G10s,i15s,G20s,S56s,and now G30s 4-u. Traded for heads and bought new CFS D shafts and right after tore rotator cuff. Finally had to try graphite shafts in irons for first time. Waited until 67 though,LOL. When discussing graphite shafts here Recoils were my top choice but didn't want to put that much more into clubs for now, and a member offered my his Excalibers he just pulled for only the price of shipping. Actually two sets 3-p and 5-p both stiff. Andrevanderpost is the generous member. Had them soft stepped and tipped by expert local clubmaker and there in the bag. Great feel to match forgiveness, distance, and overall performance.

I'm approximately 10 rounds in on a set of G30's. I'm coming off a set off Mizuno JPX 800hd. The mizunos were very nice clubs, but I am amazed with my G30's. Posted my highest green in regulation round ever by a substantial margin.

I was originally upset with pings swing weight QC, but I'm having no problem with the c6 six iron. The set is actually progressive in its sw with zz65's and half inch short.

I've really taken to the zz65's. Some posts had me worried they would be too stiff, but trajectory, feel, and distance is spot on.

I will say that I put a steelfiber in a 23° ping g20 hybrid and its been my favorite club ever. Trying to really resist the urge for steelfibers in the irons.

Nessissm, I also loved recoils. I rate them and steelfibers 1 and 1a.

Let me tell you what Wooderson is packin'
Sim Max 12° Speeder NX 6s

I've been playing G15s since they came out with DGSL shafts (based on fitting). I've had the itch to get new irons this year. Tried the G30 w/ ZZ65 at a recent Ping demo day and really liked them. I was hesitating to pay that much to switch to a set so similar to mine until I came across a used mint condition set in my exact specs with the zz65 shaft that I wanted. I pulled the trigger and should have them next week.

My long iron play has been struggling, so the new loft/length progression in the G30s is letting me go 5-Uw (where the 5 is close to the same loft as my g15 4 iron) with a 20* hybrid (as a four iron replacement) and then 3 and 5 woods. I was torn between having 2 hybrids or 2 fw. I'm experimenting with what I have for now

I have all the G20 irons, from 3 to LW. I have the G20 4 hybrid too, but don't really like it. I also have the G20 5-wood, but can't really hit it. Since I exclusively carry, I usually only take the odd irons, driver and putter (8 clubs).

I've been chipping really good with the LW lately, using Monte's delivering the bounce technique. I don't know why you wouldn't use the G20 wedges if you have the irons, I don't see why any bladed conventional wedge could perform any better :) I'm a 20 HCP and obviously suck, but my chipping/pitching with the G20 LW is probably the best part of my "game"...

Have gamed several from G2 to G20. My G2s were my first set of nice irons and are my go to set and have had trouble getting away from them. Then I got the upgrade itch and got the G10s then back to G2s. Second I tried the G15s then back to G2s. Now I am gaming the G20s and have adjusted better but still not sold on them. I have my G2s ready to go on stand by. But I think I will always play Ping G series.

Driver - 10.5* TM M2
Wood - 15* TM M@
Hybrids - Ping G25
Irons - Ping Rapture V2s 5-UW
Wedges - Titleist Vokey SM8 54*
Putter - Odyssey EXO Rossie

On my second go-around with the G25's. Coming from the 15's, I like the slimmer look, darker finish and more subtle cavity. Had some KBS Tours in my first set, but the CFS in my current set fit my game better.

Have to give a shout out to the G5's though. They were my first G set and I love their simple look.

G5's for me ... 4 through Lob Wedge. Top of the bag has a Cally driver, 4 wood, and 7 wood, never really found a Ping wood that performed quite as well. My brother has G25's. I really like what they did with the sole grind on the 25's, and the slightly narrower sole of the 5's. The 10's, 15's, and 20's never really got along with my swing.

I own a combo set of G5/I5's that ordered a long time ago. It's a good combination for me as I need help in the longer irons, but I like the look and feel of the I5's from 7 iron on down. When the G25's came out, I thought they would replace the G5/I5's as the G25's seemed almost like a designed combo set. Found a used set of G25's on the cheap and played them all last summer. I never seemed to find my groove with them so I sold them and went back to the G5/I5's. Decided I'd like to give the G30's a shot this summer so picked up used set to try out. Should be playing my first rounds with them this week, but I'm not going to let my old set go. Need a safety net in case the G30's and I don't get along.

Please add my name to the list. I snagged a beautiful 5-W G2 set late last year and had some of the best rounds of my life after that. Spent the winter looking for a 4i to compliment the set and found one but it's missing the weight. Figured I'd just wait until my local PING dealer opened for the year and would send it in to get a new weight installed but I won an auction for a set of 4-9 G10 in my color code for an unbelievable price. Last month I pulled the head off the 4i, installed a Nippon 1150 shaft and finally got to test it out on Friday. Good gawd what a combination! Needless to say that the epoxy is drying on the rest of the set at this very moment.

The remainder of the bag is Rapture V2 driver, G20 4w, G30 5w, Anser hybrid and iWedges. The winds on Friday were 30-35 mph so I yanked the Rapture out for the day and put in a new-to-me G25 3w. I was a bit worried about the stock stiff shaft but as it turns out it holds up just fine. Fantastic off the tee and so very easy off the deck. Ended up posting a score better than my average and I haven't even swung a club since October.

I can honestly say that my bag is finally set and I have a few combinations to work with depending on the course and the conditions. I'm a G-Man for life.

Somebody stop me! I've had the g25 in my bag for 2 seasons but those Callaway XR irons are calling me. My trackman demo showed me they were longer and straighter than my PING's. Yesterday I demo's the XR against my g25 (7 irons). The Callaways were longer and better on misfits. All that said, I really like my g25's and don't want to buy new irons but ....... Outdoor and indoor trackman results are telling me I should.

Can someone talk me off this fence?

Distance won't make you score better. The XR lofts are way stronger. Don't get me wrong, I think they are fine clubs. Just don't get them because they are "longer".
