Be careful for what you wish for. You just might get your wish and start shanking.lol

Oh, believe me, I was. Driver was absolutely monstrous, but I couldn't get any other clubs working. So, this was a par 5, I hit a huge tee shot, sitting maybe 250 to the green. Decided to layup with a 6 iron instead of going for it in 2, shank. Now I'm 225, so figure I can go for it with the 5 wood now, shank. Finally sitting 140 out, hit the PW, shanked to about 3 feet. Tap in for par. Weirdest hole I've had in a while.

My PW has also produced some great shots. This really is a great set all the way through.

Agreed. Usually struggle with low irons a bit, but I seem to hit the 4 iron in this set better than most. The other highlight of the last round was a towering 4 the dropped right on the fringe of another par 5 in 2 (which I then screwed up and only parred).

I took the plunge. You are looking at a proud new owner of the j15 cb.

You made a wise choice. I will bet you anything these will be very close to the set that you are playing now. The wedges will be next. lol

This reminds me of when Mrs. Doubtfire was having a job interview dressed normally with the head of the tv station in one room, and dinner, dressed as an old lady with his family in the adjoining room........He kept running back and forth like a guy bouncing between the I love J15 forum and the I love the srixon 945 forum while bumping into the 716cbs every now and then in the middle.......... :sorry:

You would have thought that while I was in College, I would have learned not to burn the candle at both ends. You will and I mean will get burned in the middle. And it is always when you are around friends.

So you are correct but in my defense, I have stayed faithful to the J15's for almost a year. That is like an eternity for someone with my impulsive needs.

Just put J15CBs in play this week. Only have three range sessions (off grass) and one round, but I'm pretty happy. These are ridiculously forgiving for a "players CB" IMO. Feel is very good, feedback is more subtle than I'm used to, but clear enough. Turf interaction is quite good, despite the wide sole, good camber I suppose. I put these in the bag because I liked the simple design, haven't been a fan of cut/pocket cavities due to change in feel across the set. These feel consistent from 4-PW. Still dialing in distances, but so far so good, strong lofts may equal slightly longer distances, but high launch and a good amount of spin, means they're functioning as I expect from each club. DG Pro has a different feeling than I'm used to, but I think the transition will be fine as the performance has been good so far.

I was longing to love the 716CBs, but just didn't care for the feeling on mishits (maybe the tungsten inserts?), and having to pay >$200 more for the set didn't help. As a long time Mizuno/Titleist guy, I'm very excited to move forward with these Bridgestones.

G410 14.5, Tour 75 stiff
G410 19, 22, Tour 85 stiff

Nice write up. The short amount of time I had the 716 cb's, I concur with your statement. When flushed they felt great. But off center hits were harsher than the J15's

Don't do it, keep them around or you'll regret it. They'll earn their spot back. There is NO CB that is as soft, long, and forgiving as the J15CB. It just doesn't exist. This coming from a previous Mizuno player of 10 years. My 53s got benched in 1 week.

Not moving on. Just stepping out a little. Sometimes you have to try something different to appreciate what you have. The J15's have been in my bag so long, I just want to sow a wild oat or two. Lol

How many have you played with them outside, on-course? Because that's the real acid test obviously. If you haven't hit them much on-course, and you find the same thing happening when you get out onto the course, then a weakening of the lofts will probably help more than a change of shaft. But a combination of weakening the lofts and something like KBS Tour 90, PXi, XP or Nippon 950/1050 will possibly do the trick. But get them out on the course first before dropping any coin to get the shafts and/or lofts weakened.

Be careful on changing shafts without playing outside. Same thing happened to me with a set of S55's. The monitor showed that the KBS shafts that were in them were too low. KBS shafts! On the course, they were actually too high.

Thx for the advices guys! I plyed them since june. It is just that i never looked at the launch angle and peak height and last night, they seem low. My ball flight was medium this summer... i guess it is the 5 weeks without hitting balls was the cause. But youre right, ill wait till spring to change something.
