Did anyone ever figure out what the black is on the back? Can I remove it? Does it serve some sort of purpose?

Spoke with Nike Golf. The insert is similar to the badge on the VPC. The person I spoke with had only seen the prototype version.

Broke down and placed my order today with my rep. Trying a new setup. Went 50 Sq--54 TS---58 DS. All with S300s. I was going to go Modus 3, but changed my mind when I went 3 wedges.

54 TS. I haven't carried a SW in 12 years or more. The 58 TS I had last year was really solid from the sand, but I liked my std 58 better on basic chips around the green. Decided to try the 54 TS this year. We'll see how it goes.

It's all stock so it shouldn't be a problem. I've had my stock wedges on order since Dec. I should be able to send in any custom orders through my rep. Let me know.

Nike wanted to make sure the snow was gone in MN so I could play them with the rest of the country. Nike likes to spread their releases out. Believe it or not but some parts of the country the golf season doesn't start until around the masters.

Where are people ordering these so soon? I'm guessing not through any online retailers. I'm intrigued by the TS. Currently have the first gen TS in 58*, it's great, but my only complaint would be I'd like the toe section to be slightly not as beefy. Judging from the pictures I've seen though (obviously won't be able to tell for sure), it looks just as chunky in the toe as the first version. Can anyone who's been able to see both in person possibly chime in and confirm/debunk this perception of mines?

I'm thinking of going SQ in the 50 and 54 and dual sole in the 58. I was thinking of going with a TS in the 58 but I prefer more bounce out of the sand and the DS has the higher bounce that I like. I'm also considering putting one of the Nippon wedge shafts in the 54 and 58 but keeping x100 in the 50 since it will be used for full shots most of the time.

As always, please report on the 54ts. I've considered doing this myself this year. I'm usually using the 54 from the sand and 58ds everywhere else around the green.

They said I would probably get them around April 1st if I read the email correctly. I'll post as soon as they come in.

I had a similar conversation with Mike Taylor when I was there. I explained that I liked the the TS version, I just thought the sole was too thick. They did make an adjustment to the Engage TS. Its an upgrade over the previous version. As far as the sole thickness I am not sure. I do know when I hit them the trajectory off the face was higher than last years. The ultimate version is something with the TS model and more relief on the sole...which is your "green dot" version. Don't believe those are coming to retail anytime soon.
