The black on the back is hideous. Much like TaylorMade realized before releasing their ATV wedges.

This year's Nike woods, irons and putters look great. The wedges, not so much.

Average golfers are going to be super upset when their new wedges start rusting after 1 round.

The bigger issue is that we know rust reduces spin.

The average golfer won't even realize they are rusting.

And the spin is not an issue. When I removed the finish from my vr forged wedges and oil can vokeys they had better feel and I noticed no difference in spin when they rusted.

Yeah I know but at least we (lefties) get everything else. ....well except putters of course. ....the decent amount of bounce though has always been handy! So I'll be happy if everything thing gets done correctly the first time .....and what are you doing up?

April IS kinda sad too.....

Which one would be more versatile for varrying turf conditions? I'm likely to play soft thicker rough, with wet conditions or dry, thin grass where the ground is hard as a rock.

Last year the 57 TS was great for everything except when I short sided myself and needed to really get the ball up in the air. I brought my 60DS back from the garage and bent it open.

I know that feeling. The 60 would always tempt me too much to try a "Philly Mick" shot constantly. I had to keep myself very disciplined in which wedge is for what shots. I mean how else does a WRX'er deal with an open slot in the bag? Gotta fill it with a club right?

Hard ground means you want less bounce since digging won't be an issue.

Right but will that hurt me in thick wet conditions? Is there a happy medium?

It might and might not. In thick rough I like to get very steep and catch the ball as clean as possible so a low bounce is nice for me. Feels like a scalpel.

The happy medium would be the standard grind but you would have to evaluate your own wedge game to determine the lofts and grinds you want.

For me the toe sweep is the most versatile but I never play those super dry Texas like conditions where it is like hitting concrete. When I played during the winter in Texas with my buddy I found the Toe Sweep wasn't great for full shots when your hitting off of concrete like dirt.

I think the Square would fit varying conditions the best. Followed by the Toe Sweep.

Toe Sweep is awesome from bunkers and thick rough. I never tried the TS in wet conditions. I had the X3X TS, but dumped it and went back to my VR Forged 58 Std sole.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but rust has zero impact on spin. This has been covered too many times to count on this site.

On your first point, that certainly may be.

But it's a scientific fact that rusted wedges spin less. Indeed, it's likely just a placebo effect since removing an oil can finish shouldn't affect feel.
